On the breakfast menu, it was advertised as smashed avocado on toast and it was actually premade guacamole on toast which I think is extremely poor

A lovely historical 15 C inn with beautiful flagstone floors , open fires in the bar , dining room and lounges. We stayed here for two nights as we had booked lunch at The Farmers Dog to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Upon arrival and being taken to our room, we asked to change it to one with a walk in shower. We actually downgraded to Priory which we absolutely loved , so intimate, warm and cosy with a fabulous bed and excellent bedding . Having driven from East Sussex we considered going for a walk but it was so cold outside, we elected to have a drink in the bar snuggled in by the fire which is where we stayed until bed time ! Such warm and welcoming staff and lots of interesting guests to chat to. Breakfast next morning was delicious, I thoroughly recommend the smashed avocado with poached eggs. After exploring the local high street we returned to The Lamb for a quick drink while waiting for our taxi which reception had booked for us. £50 round trip to The Farmers Dog which was expensive given it’s relatively close but for ease it was great and we didn’t have to drive. After another great sleep and fabulous breakfast, we left for home. We will certainly return. ( Freddie will be missed behind the bar ! )

We recently stayed here for two nights and had a very pleasant stay! Firstly we would strongly recommend parking in the sister hotels car park as street parking in Burford can be challenging especially at a weekend! The warm welcome was appreciated, and we think it was Lily who worked most of the weekend! Our room was comfortable with a good bed and no road noise. The shower was good with Molton Brown products. We enjoyed soup in the bar one night was very good however the choice of toasted sourdough was a strange accompaniment. The Fullers London Pride was well kept. So why not a score of 5 ! The wi-fi was terrible in our room so if you are staying on business that will be a real problem. We went out on our second day and the instructions in your room are to leave the window open which we did but it was still open in the freezing cold at 8pm when we returned back to the room! The radiator in the bathroom is right next to your leg on the toilet and could cause a nasty burn. Breakfast was ok, we went down at 9.30 on our first day and there were no pastries or bowls left! Also the bacon was very fatty but good poached eggs. For the price we expected a slightly better experience but this is still a lovely inn !

Lovely cosy Cotswolds Inn. Staff very pleasant and attentive. Room was was warm clean and comfortable. Nice modern shower. Breakfast was exceptional choice, quality and service. Will definitely return.
