The Lamb Inn

Lovely historic building, thoughtfuly decorated rooms, good food, roaring fireplaces, warm and cosy, great location, easy parking.

It was all fabulous.

Nothing. Too modern would spoil it.

The Lamb inn was a nice stay. We stayed two nights but had to change rooms as limited availability for the weekend we stayed. The first night the manager was a bit cheeky… before getting into our room we was told there was a “spillage” the night before. No such thing someone had vomited in the room so left behind a vile smell that didn’t budge. There was money taken off our bill but the lack of honesty was a shame. We were then known to all the staff and it clouded our stay that night. Tried to spend as much time out of the room at that point. Left all the windows open and tried to air it out. I understand that this is no one’s fault but to take payment and not be told the full story isn’t the best. The second night was much better the room was cosy. And didn’t smell. Both rooms were tidy and there was always somewhere to park. Bar staff were super friendly. And the roast dinner was very nice. Weather wasn’t great that weekend so the fires on was a very nice and cosy touch.

This is the second year our large family group has spent the festive period at the Lamb Inn and we very much hope it will not be the last. I challenge you to find anywhere more welcoming for Christmas. A picturesque and cosy hotel, roaring log fires, comfortable rooms and absolutely delicious food throughout our stay. Even warmer than the fires was the welcome from all the staff: Jessica, Zoe, Toby, Jack and Lexie all made us feel like we were home from home. If I could give the Lamb 10 stars I would, but they have easily earned their top 5 rating.

Outstanding stay at this hugely welcoming quintessential Cotswold Inn. Such a lovely warm ( great fires) from the moment you step through the door. Absolutely superbly menus, delicious food, imaginative wine list and very comfortable bedrooms. Jessica, Tony , Jack , Zoe, Lexxie and the whole team surpassed themselves and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a truly memorable stay.
