Holdsworth House

Very friendly welcoming staff. Food gorgeous and a decent Yorkshire breakfast to boot. Will probably return to investigate the area the history and rest awhile

I was hoping that this hotel was out of the town and was a little concerned when I saw the location was in the suburbs of Halifax however was pleasantly surprised at the peace and lack of noise both traffic and neighbourly. It was the best night's sleep i've had in a hotel lovely comfy bed and the cleanliness 10 out of 10. Staff very friendly and accomodating. Food very good . I really couldn't fault this hotel.

Lovely hotel, which has recently undergone some work to the restarant. Dinner and breakfast is first class and the restaurant is always very busy in the evenings with non-guests; which shows how the food is regarded in the local area. The rooms are slightly dated, but fine for a solo business person who wants a nice quiet nights rest in an idillic setting. Not a huge amount around in terms of the local area, but that wasn't the purpose of my visit. I would definitely stay again and this is my defacto hotel of choice when in the Halifax area. The Wifi is also pretty good, considering the age of the building and all those thick brick walls. Highly recommended.

We has a lovely evening at Holds worth house. The staff were chatty and polite. Book early for dinner though, tables go fast.

Beautiful setting and a lovely building. Staff are so helpful and pleasant. Excellent customer service, including a free glass of wine on arrival! Superb value for money.

I booked for my boyfriends 40th. They left a postcard and chocolates to wish us a good stay. The staff were amazing. I have worked as a manager in the industry and was very very impressed. The hotel is beautiful. We just relaxed, but easy to get to tourist destinations.

My stay at Holdsworth House was sadley cut short, I was booked in for 3 nights but only stayed 2. My mother had a sever stroke and so I had to leave a day early. Holdsworth were very good and did not charge ne for the night lost. Staff were very sympathetic.

We had a wonderful dinner with terrific food & service which was then completely marred by a wedding reception at the hotel whose guests evidently drank from 6 pm to 3:30 am. They were raucous & disrespectful, singing loudly & slamming doors and despite calls to the night porter at 2:30 & 3:00 am, they couldn't be contained. The hotel needs to develop and enforce policies to protect their guests.

It was a charming old hotel, dating back to 1598 with a great staff. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of wine.
