Holdsworth House

We had four nights at Holdsworth. It is a fine historical mansion well staffed rooms were smaller than they looked on the internet photos. We were upstairs and the window was a large skylight. For two of the nights we stayed there were large weddings held which occupy the gardens and bar area and on one night the entire restaurant. They have a lot of weddings apparently. The breakfast was excellent the reception staff helpful. Parking on the wedding nights was very difficult.

We were at a wedding. Every thing was perfect.

An amazing place, great staff, very welcoming, great food and an excellent wedding venue, loved it. One small niggle was our bed was very sqeaky, you only had to move an inch for it to start but I guess that within the character of the hotel. Loved it, will definitely go back.

First of all let me state that the cost of the room £145 for a double room with tea and coffee in this location with the facities is too much. Its a served breakfast which I love, however we were seated at a table that was not set correctly. There were two cups missing and no breakfast spoons and no milk jug and no teaspoons. I asked for a milk jug and was told to use the one on the table, i had to explain we did not have one. I had to ask for 2 teacup and was brought two tea cups without any saucers.... whats that about? lack of training on the part of the waitress? The place is like a maze.. confusing, and there is a bar near where we sat on arrival after the wedding. This the hotel closed at 8 o'clock pm, however the barman walked past myself and at least 4 other guests from the wedding and said nothing... He came back about 5 minutes later and said, sorry this bar is closed!!!!! EH? Could he not have explained this when he walked off!!! I said to him, a notice would be good and he just grumped at me, oh yeah!..... So, I go to the bar in the wedding room and there is a small blonde waitress in behind the bar. I ask her for a whisky, which she gives me in a brandy glass. I checked it was a whisky which it was but i think she needs some training too.... I asked for a gin glass for my gin and tonic - i was told they did not have them.... The wedding co-ordinators need to smile at the wedding too...

Our visit to this hotel was made extremely welcoming by all the staff, extremely helpful and friendly. The whole venue from day one was brilliant. highly recommended.

Beautiful Jacobean manor outside Halifax never fails to disappoint. Lovely staff which provides a family feel about the hotel. Popular with tourists, business people and as a wedding venue due to its beautiful architecture and gardens.

The original section of the house is very attractive but much smaller than it appears in photos. Our suite was in the seemingly unattractive addition from the sixties; however, the interior had recently been renovated and our suite was superbly comfortable. The gardens are lovely and I highly recommend ordering tea and scones there; probably the best ever.

Fantastic place!!!! Room was really nice and comfortable, staff were fantastic and upgraded me for free, the food was exceptional value for money

Stayed here plenty of times......the staff are very friendly. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It's the same every time. This is why I return.
