"Delightful Experience"

8.0

What a jewel!! My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. Our host welcomed us inside, served us a delicious welcome chai, and booked us a camel safari before we even finished checking in. The hotel and our room were delightfully decorated, even though some renovation was going on, leaving everything a bit dusty and giving us some occasional power/internet issues. Overall, though, minor inconveniences. Our host was wonderful and we will definitely stay there again!

"Avoid the renovations!"

4.0

This hotel looks lovely and the rooms themselves are nice, but we arrived during a period of construction. The restaurant was a building site and several of the rooms were being painted. Having booked the hotel based on the communal space available we were pretty disappointed. The smell of paint was everywhere and construction items were scattered across all floors. I would recommend checking if the repairs have finished before booking - no discounts were offered despite the mess the hotel was in!

"Quirky fun place to stay"

6.0

Beautiful old haveli eccentrically converted into travellers hotel. Very charming family run the place which is on many levels. Decor a wild mix of antique and modern. Fascinating and funky, very good value and well located in the Old City.

"Sorry not for us....."

4.0

We stayed here twice but only because we had already made the bookings either side of our trip to Jaisalmer. When we got back late at night no one was there to pick us up from the train station (as agreed), and when we did arrive the place was completely locked up and we couldnt get in! I think they completely forgot we were coming and didn't even apologise. The rooms are overpriced for what they are considering the lack of service also. We would not stay here again.

"Sorry not for us"

6.0

This was just an OK stay for us and unfortunately we wouldn't return. The room was very basic but OK, the bedding was strange just 2 single sheets! We stayed twice for convenience arriving back late one evening from Jaisalmer and unfortunately there was noone to pick us up from the train station as promised and the place was all locked up when we did get there. After phoning to wake the owner up he had forgotten we were coming. For the price you pay here I definitely think you can get better elsewhere.

"The Best of the Old with Modern Comforts Added"

8.0

The Blue House Guest House is the oldest in the old city but the management has made improvements so the best of the old is combined with LED lighting, marble banisters on the steps, hot water, ceiling fans, A/C, and real comfort. Many of the rooms have private outside seating areas, mine had two rocking chairs and my private view of the fort. I often saw other hotel guests walking around taking photos of the various beautiful architectural details inside the building. There are numerous original murals around the guest house (some a little cheesy) that add to the character. Make sure you see "Lady Inside a Jellyfish" in one of the upstairs rooms. The rooms are large and have great pieces of local furniture. The family that owns/runs the guest house makes you feel very much at home. I was always offered samples of whatever they were eating and included in a festival they were celebrating. The restaurant upstairs has a stunning view of the fort and you feel like you are perched on top of the old city. It was nice to relax in the restaurant, listen to the call to prayers and watch the locals fly kites from their rooftops. Yesvannt and Gangaram always made sure I had any beverage or food I wanted.

"Great staff and good location "

Staff were great, great location.. We had a good view of fort.. We had no wifi for our staff.. We also often just ran out of water when showering.. The food at the resturant was great, however there was a half hour wait before we got any menus
