Gir Serai - IHCL SeleQtions

Booked this hotel as it was advertised as a 5 star hotel. Upon arrival we noticed how outdated and unclean the reception, bedrooms, dining hall and swimming pool were. The 2 rooms we booked were not maintained at all, as it broken cabinets, the tvs weren’t working (because the staff hadn’t bothered to renew the subscriptions for all the channels prior to our arrival) and the deposit safe was completely loose in the cupboard which meant that anyone could have carried it out of the room. The supposed ‘spa’ that was mentioned contained barely any working facilities, and the massage and steam room was just a lazily converted bedroom, with the bathroom being converted into a tiny steam room. The spa as a whole was no where near the levels as that of 5 star hotel. The only positives about the hotel were its great location, and its well maintained garden area. We expected a lot more from a hotel in the ‘Taj’ group of hotels, and it feels like this hotel should be barely given a 3 star rating.

The location, the layout and the rooms. It’s just next to the safari booking office and therefore very convenient. Cleanliness is excellent. Restaurant has got decent options. Very peaceful and green.

There wasn’t anything not to like, but the restroom needs to have clothes hangers

I recommend this gem in the forest of Girnar Super service and excellent restaurant with delicious food with personalized service from Mr. Jahid and staff Very helpful and friendly staff on the property who got the extra step for the guests!!

The staff were v helpful especially the reception staff.

It was overpriced for where it is located. Almost the same rate as a 4 star hotel in south Mumbai.

Quite location. Wanted to stay for four nights. But cut to three nights. They were kind enough to adjust.

Food. It is quite horrible. You need to change the entire cooking staff. It is spoiled and not cooked well. The cook seems to be in hurry. Atleast the manager needs to taste and check. I feel they are also afraid of the food.

Excellent location. Great views. The only place to stay in Sasan Gir. The staff was extremely courteous. Food cooked to taste. Jahid bhai as well as others took great care of us.

Amazing property. Staff makes your stay comfortable and relaxed. Right from reception to kitchen staff everyone was very good. We must give special thank to Moumita and Apu for making our evening enjoyable. They have arranged musical night. They both sings very well and I have also tried to sing first time. Overall very good experience.
