Hotel Muisca

Pros: Great location, friendly staff, solid breakfast, thematic decor, super comfortable bed. Cons: Rooms are not spacious, cramped with a lot of stuff, and not easy to move around inside the room. Room #11 had only one window that faced the internal corridor. So it had to be shut all the time.

This hotel was our first experience of both Colombia and South America. Now that our trip is over and I look back, I'm struck that we couldn't have had a more representative entrée into the spirit of this continent - warm and hospitable, even at our 2:30am check in. Our room was small but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were extremely amiable and helpful. Overall, we were only there two nights, but it was a great spot to launch out and explore La Candelaria from.

Great location and very friendly staff

My son LOVED the rooftop breakfast every morning. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again. The only downside was that there is no parking. But really, why rent a car in Bogota??

The hotel cleanliness and amenities were what you would expect for this price. However, the woman with glasses working the front desk is one of the most unpleasant humans I have encountered. She would pretend to not understand what you were saying (both English or Spanish) so as to not have to take the time to answer your question. I don’t think she smiled once throughout our stay. Decent location and hotel for a good price, but will not be returning due to the ornery staff.

A small family-operated hotel of charm and character with a Muisca-theme, with interesting pictures and exhibits like a small gallery or museum. Staff are friendly and helpful (one cold night, they brought us extra blankets and hot-water bottles!). Good 24-hour front door security. We felt safe here. It's an older building, and the plumbing and shower functioned, though not the most powerful. Overall, we were happy to stay here!

The property was like a journey into a historical past, it was just an amazing experience. The staff was very kind and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends, and I would definitely stay there again.

My sister and I absolutely loved Hotel Muisca! Specifically, thank you to Carlos who made our stay very comfortable and always went above and beyond to accommodate us! The hotel was beautiful and looked like a little hotel of its own surrounded by the magic of la Candelaria. Bogota is cold, but Carlos made sure that we had our heat and additional heat bottle. Our day staff were great too, they always called us to see if we needed anything before leaving. This was a perfect escape and we couldn't be more thankful for our treatment! Muchas gracias Carlos and staff!
