Hotel La Cartuja

Friendly team. Very helpful. Left excess requirements in storage while on another tour. Beautiful breakfasts. Very clean, well looked after hotel in the old British Embassy.

The historical building in which the hotel occupies (the former British embassy) was gorgeous with a pleasant court yard and furnishings. The room was clean, comfortable, secure, and well maintained. Only drawback was the hot water takes a while to come through on the shower. The service was friendly, courteous, and always helpful. Breakfasts were simple but satisfying. The cultural museum was just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and many great restaurants with a variety of options were within 10-15 minutes walk. The historical heart of the city is about a half hour walk away. Would choose again when in Quito.

Clean, friendly, good location close to metro. Breakfast was good too. A cute, convenient place to stay in Quito. Very fair price.

This modest but comfortable hotel is a mainstay for Intrepid Travellers in Quito. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful and having spent 7 nights there I can recommend it to anyone traveling on a restricted budget. The Garden setting is lovely.

A wonderful family run hotel. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel in general is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are beautiful. It’s situated outside the old city, but the old city is only one Metro stop away. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Quito.

I stayed at Hotel Cartuja thanks to an Intrepid trip booking, and I’m so thankful to the company for choosing such a great accommodation. Carla, Patricio and Maria are the friendliest hosts and so accommodating and kind. Nothing was a problem during our 2 night stay. The rooms are well kept and clean, the facilities very lovely, especially the little courtyard garden and breakfast fresh and tasty. Thank you to the team for all the hard work they do to maintain this quality.

The room was spacious with a large bathroom. Cleaned and comfortable king size bed. Breakfast daily with eggs and toast plus fruits. The staffs are super accommodating storing our luggage’s until departure time, and packed to-go breakfast on the mornings we left early for our activities. We would stay here again when in Quito.
