Hotel Kristály Imperial

Hotel grundsätzlich Ok aber Zimmer schon etwas angegraut.

I was very pleased with the level of service, the cleanliness, the food and the room. The hotel is situated in the heart of the city, so easy access to the lakes for a walk. We had a fantastic time thank you Hotel Kristaly!

Hotellet ligger i ett område där det inte händer så mycket men sjön på gång avstånd är fin och det går att gå runt.

All services of a 4 stars hotel. There is a very nice and quiet patio in the courtyard where you can have dinner. The spa and small swimming pool look quite new. It's just 5 minutes walk from the lake.

I spent one night at this hotel after a wedding which was held nearby. As it is a 4 star hotel I expected a somewhat fancy experience, like super clean rooms with modern furniture but it was a very average 3 star experience instead. It has nothing to do with their website, it looked more aged than in any of the pictures, I have no clue where the advertised rooms could be located in the hotel. Pro: - The room (in the newer building) was spacious and well equipped. - Breakfast was good with a wide variety of choices from scrambled eggs to yogurt. - Good quality sleep. Contra: - The room was dark, looked aged and was a bit odorous. - Noisy AC. - The staff (including the receptionists and waitresses too) wasn't polite or kind at all. In general it wasn't anything special but sufficient for a night. I haven't been to the spa though, that might have improved my opinion.

The building itself has a great location and is beautiful, the bedrooms and bathrooms are nice and clean, the spa is also nice (only a bit strange why the restricted opening hours). Some things remained as reminders on the 70s, like the list of house rules. Our biggest disappointment however was the food, especially the dinners. The dinners were in buffet style, but with very limited selection and what was offered was simple food, no gourmet dishes or local specialities. The worst was on our first evening. Like in a university canteen - fried onion rings, chicken drumsticks, fish fingers. There was some improvement for the 2nd and 3rd nights, but the 3rd night being New Year's Eve one would have thought it would be a special dinner. It wasn't. And on top of this the kitchen run out of one of the main dishes. It is not the kind of service one would expect from a 4*- very expensive - hotel. To be fair, I have to add that the waiting staff was professional and friendly.

The hotel restaurant is great, although the menu is small. The room was alright, but the TV had a strange buzzing, same with the vent in the bathroom which was way too loud. The staff was semi friendly - service in the spa non existent. We tried ordering drinks several times but never got any order through.

The hotel is great and the people are so nice and the Spa is great place to relax after work or play. They have several saunas and the pool is perfect. the rooms are large and very nice with everything you need. I only stay here every time I come to Hungary for business it is always perfect.

Hotel itself it is nice, clean, with renovated spa. Stuff friendly, especially waitresses. Receptionists tried to remained friendly, but they just don´t pay too much attention. We came for a wellness weekend but spa was a disappointment. Finnish sauna didn´t work at all, when we asked, receptionist told us there is other sauna. This "other" was infrared sauna, which was supposed to have min 45°C but temperature was constantly dropping until 29°C. I sat there for nearly and hour with no effect whatsoever. Second evening it was switched off. Same for steam chamber - steam was blown in such a long interval, that one had to wait for it...otherwise the room was practically clear. Jacuzzi was nice with a beautiful color light but cold. After 10 min I had to go out not because of recommended time but just it was uncomfortable to stay in longer. I got tired to ask and ask again about each single issue. I came there to relax, not to run behind stuff to beg them if they can do something. They had many safes in the spa but nearly none worked. Same for the room. Room itself was a standard one, clean with a renovated bathroom. Only central air condition was not able to heat up the room at all. It was so cold that the only way how to stay there was under the blanket. First night I wished I had some cap with me. Fortunately bed was very comfortable and blankets warm enough. Seems that they have some issue with the temperature...maybe on saving budget? ;-) Food was OK, quit nice and various, nothing extra but good taste. Very friendly waitresses!

Tata was the culmination of our road trip before turning round and heading for home. We drove through 9 countries from the UK. Tata is a nice town with a lake, there was a festival on during our stay that was colourful and lively the locals were very friendly and helpful. the hotel is centrally placed very clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful and there is free underground parking, although when the hotel hosts weddings this is at a premium and one night we had to leave our car in the street. The area is well lit and there is a police station across the street so there is no issue with the vehicle security. It is a hotel we will use again and has a lot of history attached to it.
