The Stavrand Russian River Valley

Spent a night here for a work retreat. Small, quaint boutique hotel with gardens, pool and hot tub. The rooms with soaking tubs are spa like. The hospitality of the staff was wonderful. The manager Emily went above and beyond to make our short stay an amazing experience. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Food was delicious. Lots to do at and around the Stavrand including fire pits with s'mores!

Rooms were beautiful, comfy and clean. The staff was so kind and helpful. Great spot for a weekend getaway from the Bay Area!

Try the salmon, the filet mignon, and all the wines -- basically, eat all the food. Emily was a tremendous host and her team was attentive without dominating, and always helpful and cheerful. Highly recommend for a midweek work retreat experience.

The entire experience at Stavrand was amazing. The staff were remarkably attentive and kind. The grounds of this hotel are out of a storybook. Magical, quiet, drenched in the peace of the redwoods. The bed, deliciously comfortable. And the food in the restaurant, five stars too!! Be sure to enjoy a glass of wine by the fire pits. I was here with a work group. This is the PERFECT place for a work retreat.

The breakfast included daily was TOP NOTCH! The attention to detail in the common areas as well as in our room were so appreciated - from the books, little reading nooks, teas and coffee daily and multiple seated areas, to the convenient s’mores and game night displays, to ear plugs and makeup wipes included in your normal toiletry inclusions, to an umbrella in the room closet, everything was so well-thought of, it felt like a home away from home. The place has been restored beautifully with updated amenities and decor! The bed was SO COMFORTABLE! What a special, special vacay we had:)

Well breakfast was a little off.. short on staff… coffee service they kept forgetting us.. food ok … we’re told New chef. Whoops that’s what was off… the sheets and bed amazing!!! Love them! Offer more complimentary munchies, amenities and charge more for room.

Well I choose wrong room.. way too small.. but maybe a larger one wasn’t available!!!

Absolutely perfect hotel, you can see the care the owner has put into every single detail. It was super fun that they have a wine hour at 5 o'clock and s'mores by the fireplace every night! Also, everything was incredibly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was perfect. Will definitely be returning!

Can't say that the hotel is worth the cost. We had only one night away, and there was a power outage for the entire morning. While obviously not the hotel's fault, their handling was odd. For $900 a night, I would expect better hospitality than what we experienced. It was also EXCEPTIONALLY loud with a leaf blower blaring the entire morning. The opposite of relaxing.

It's expensive but unique location, wonderful staff, and very nice. Only one complaint, There were no plugs near the desk to plug in my laptop.
