Ammatara Pura Pool Villa

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff and service were lovely, room large, clean, and beautiful with a private pool, quiet beachfront area and beautiful beach as well! Highly recommend.

The location and the overall feel and features of the property were amazing. We loved the typical Thai style of the buildings and it created a real feeling of being in Thailand. We stayed in a pool villa room - room 305 - which was fantastic! The room itself was huge, ultra silent for amazing nights sleep and amazing view over your own private pool to the sea! We lay and watched a fabulous lightning / thunder storm one evening from our bed! Room 305 has the best clear view I think as not obscured by tree foliage.The outdoor shower may not be everyone’s cup of tea but we loved it as it kept moisture out of the room and therefore no smell of damp which we have experienced at other 5* hotels in Thailand. This being a small intimate hotel also adds value as the staff are impeccable. They really get to know you on a personal basis. A shout out for Boa, Gail and Lim who really made our stay first class. A thank you must be extended to Steven the manager who also took the time to introduce the room and property to us on our stay. We had a wonderful relaxing time at this hotel. The team went over and above to arrange a table on the beach for us for our 28 year anniversary - much much thanks you you all for this :-)

Just a few niggles which could easily be improved. 1. The sun beds although authentic really need replaced as they are shabby and in some places dangerous with nails and broken pieces 2. The breakfast is pre ordered every night which is a nice offering but we felt perhaps could be improved and simplified by offering a small buffet area with fruits, juices and pastries and only offering pre orders for cooked items. This would also free up staff time and arguably make the guest experience smoother. BUT all in all these are suggestions rather than complaints or not liking the offerings.

Beautiful authentic design. Looks like a temple. Very quiet and private but in a good location. Very kind staff. Amazing breakfast. Beautiful huge room.

Absolutely nothing

Excellent experience in an all in thai style hotel.. almost like Living in a museum for a western. Superb service all the over the hotel and probably the best Daily cleaning we have seen ever. Breakfast is al carte. Location at superb beach and close to city center. Only concern is the maintence. Seems a little worn out for a 5 star hotel some places eg the pool table looks something from a hostel - overall fantastic expericence

The location of the resort is very good, a few minutes walk to the town, the resort looks good from the outside, it catches your eye. The food on the menu is very good.

the villa with two rooms on the beach, it sounds good, but that's all: the water in the pool had a lot of chlorine, and after a shower I still smelled of chlorine, upon entering the villa you have a narrow basin with water, which smells terrible, stagnant water, full of frogs. The exterior doors to the rooms do not close very well, so any gecko can sneak in quietly. The rooms are very large and luxurious, until you reach the shower part, where you will find disaster, I was left with the faucet in my hand, the panel on which the shower is attached is made of wood bent by so much moisture. Besides the shower, you have a room with an "outdoor shower", a dark, moldy place, at least I was afraid to take a shower alone. The surprise of surprises was the breakfast included in the price, you have two sheets from which you can choose "5 items" (eggs, bread, coffee, sausages, salad) but they must be ordered by you the day before, on the first day we forgot to order . The restaurant near the beach is dirty, lacks charm, the bar is in disrepair, to be honest I felt very sorry to see how this resort is lost, due to negligence or lack of money, as I said, the resort looks like a dream from the outside. Thanks to the girls from the bar and restaurant, they made our stay more beautiful.

We had a 2 bedroom villa, which provided comfort and enough room for all of us. The villa is so spacious, outside terace with pool and close access to beach. The evenings on terace were very nice, sea view and privacy. We really enjoyed our stay. There is an opportunity to improve service for lunch and dinner,h

Location is a bit off Be ready to spend a lot of money on taxis
