Casa Spa d'Alma

This place is absolutely fantastic. You can see that this a labour of love with Karin and Dirk-Jan who were great hosts. As soon as we arrived we felt we were staying with friends. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable,: large bedroom and large comfy bed. The communal areas are lovely with plenty of spots to sit and relax in their beautiful garden. The area itself suited us perfectly. quiet and tranquil but not isolated with plenty of hiking trails on your doorstep. The town of Monchique is 10 mins away by car and Alferce village is a short walk from the accommodation. We had initially planned on staying for four nights but stayed for a full week. We will be back.

Gorgeous location, close proximity to local hikes and very easy to get around, 10 mins to Monchique and 30 mins to the coast. The gardens are beautiful and Karin is so helpful - probably the best host we’ve ever had. She gave us many great recommendations. The breakfasts were plentiful, with fresh fruit and avocados from the garden. Pack a warm layer as it’s windy and chillier up in the mountains.

The property is very restful and beautiful and Dirk-Jan and Karin are exceptional hosts! They advised us on nearby hikes and places to eat and shop. They really looked after our every need and were very gracious! The bed and room were spacious and beautiful and well equipped.

There was nothing that needed improvement in any way!

I liked everything.

Karin and Jan are lovely hosts who take care of their guests. The place is wonderfull with outdoor kitchen well equipped to cook. The breakfast is excellent and the tables are outdoor on a sunny nice terrace. The room is very clean and spacious. There is a swimming pool and a spa where you can spend time in a quiet and silent place. Only birds and a dog in the distance. Despite the distance from the coast, I highly recommend this exceptional place.

Karin and Dirk-Jan are very attentive and kind hosts who make sure you feel comfortable and at home. They gave us lots of great recommendations for things to do around and restaurants to go to. We can certainly recommend staying at Casa Spa d'Alma and will miss the cats and the dog.

The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The location in the mountains is beautiful and peaceful and lovely gardens and flowers everywhere.
