I loved everything about equilibria

My third stay at Equilibria, and as always, brilliant. Bed linen-excellent, attention from staff-as needed. Staff had booked my birthday dinner at a third party place, called a business I was trying to get in contact with (easier with language issues), and tried to make contact with an adventure trip I wanted to do. Thank you to all. A short stroll to Kayu Aya/Eat Street, but still quiet. Always a pleasure to stay.

Had a fantastic stay with my partner, great location to restaurants, bars and clubs but still nice and quiet when you get back to your villa. Staff were fantastic, they go the extra mile everyday, butler service was a treat, even threw in a few comp couples massages which were fantastic!

Where to start... On arrival, we could not get into our room as the lock didn't work. This then happened for the next 3 days, which was very frustrating to walk to your door and then have to walk back to reception every time. We were offered 2 x 15-minute massages for the inconvenience. The breakfast is delivered to your living room every day, which is nice, except they call the room 15 minutes before delivery, then ring the doorbell on arrival. I understand the principle of why they do this, but the disturbance of a loud phone and then the doorbell is not a happy start to the day. The food servings are small and quite limited, so if you are looking for variety or a decent-sized breakfast, this does not work. Also, if you don't request your order each day, do not expect any food to come in a timely manner. The biggest letdown of the Equilibria is the design of the villas. We stayed in a Waterfall Villa. They are small 2-story villas with the lower floor (in our case) being the bedroom, bathroom & toilet. The upper floor is the living room. There is no link to the floors except for 2 very steep external staircases. They are disconnected and therefore don't flow at all. The shower and the toilet area are also quite tired. The bedroom area is cramped and not very large at all. The plunge pool was ok. It's certainly not that user-friendly, though. There is one deep step into the pool, and that's all. It's quite a deep pool (no shallow end) and doesn't get enough sun to warm up. It's fresh to say the least! Location-wise, the Equilibria is in a good spot. It is, however, on a long and very narrow lane off the main road through Seminyak, which is difficult to access and very uneven to try and walk along. It's on the verge of being dangerous to walk along the laneway with cars and bikes getting very close to you as they pass. The customer service here is ok at best. We certainly did not receive the experience others have written about. We had to wait for an hour and a half for food, and then were told they had forgotten to place the order.. We were then told the food would be delivered complimentary, however, it was then on our bill at departure. We then had to wait for the manager to return to the hotel for this to be removed, as there was 'no record' of that conversation. We were provided with a late check-out, which was appreciated. Although the Equilibria is quiet, peaceful and in a good location, we would not stay here again. It just didn't live up to any expectation.

Our second time here and 6 years later it is still exceptional. They facilitated an early check in and a late check out to match our flights without us even asking if it was possible, and every member of staff you encounter is an absolute delight. The villas are modern, stylish, spotless and completely private. You really feel like it's your own sanctuary, absolutely perfect for a reset or a romantic break. We pack light, but could have got away with even less - universal plug sockets, lightweight kimonos for lounging and a well stocked bathroom kit including razor are great additions. The onsite spa is excellent and allows you to float back to your villa without the real world intruding. The included breakfast is also great with a generous menu available 24 hours a day and served in your villa. The star is the private waterfall pool, the sound of gentle running water to fall asleep to and the ability to wash off Bali's omnipresent humidity as often as you want is worth everything. General tips: add on the airport transfer on arrival, it feels great to avoid the chaos, download Grab (like Uber) for rides around town, go for dinner at Sangsaka, take cash for tips (there's a small service charge included in bills but not much) as the card machines don't seem to have an option to add one.

this property has everything you need in a holiday destination. staff go above and beyond to assist the food is absolutely top shelf quality and the location is in the heart of all the fine things bali has to offer. it has become the only place we will stay when in Bali....
