"Pretty good :)"

8.0

The reception allowed us to check in very early, which was super nice and helpful, as we were exhausted from an overnight trip. Service, location and cleanliness is top notch, but the noise in the hotel was difficult and the WiFi was very weak. No elevator, so not for the disabled. Also, some of the (male) guests are a little creepy - this isn't the fault of the hotel, but it can make a woman feel a bit uncomfortable. Very good price, though, so certainly worth it if you're not sensitive to that sort of thing.

"Simple but overall good"

8.0

Our room was neat and clean. The double (twins pushed together) bed was typically hard, but the bedding fine. The towels (2 bath sheets) were rough but clean and ample. The daily maid service was very good. The reception was also very friendly. There is no lift and the stairs are steep. The hot water was warm and a bit weak but it was there. It was overall quiet. For a guest house that was pretty amazing. The price was right and the location excellent - 2 blocks from Rua Garrett, the Rossio train station and the Rossio metro stop (green line).

"Good"

i had booked at down town guest house in july for a stay in september. When I arrived (at 11 p.m.) there was no room for me, because they had 'lost' my booking. It has been just luck that the day shift receptionist was still there (a smart and kind polish guy) and that they had a free room in the 'associated' Baixa guest house, otherwise I would have been left on the road (furthermore Lisbon hotels were rather full those days). The point is that I would have never gone to Baixa, as it is on a traffic road and therefore noisy. The room was really really small, there is no reception out of normal working hours (9-18), and you have to climb a rather steep stairs to reach the upper floors (I was on the 3rd floor, with the luggage is not trivial). And this for 90 euros per night, no breakfast. I find it a bit too much, but apparently Lisbon is becoming worse than London in season. The good point is that the room was spotless clean, the bathroom new, and the bed confortable. Which makes my judgment not totally negative

"Nice room, excellent location"

6.0

Friendly staff; room was nearly decorated and spacious with a large bathroom. The mattress was not comfortable, unfortunately. There was a loud noise coming from the water pipes when the taps were on in the other rooms. The location is superb.

"Basic hostel in great location"

6.0

There is nothing fancy about this place, including no AC although it did not get hot while we were there in mid-July. And there is no place to unload your car within several blocks --- this is strictly a taxi or walk-in place. But all the other basics are there, including several quite friendly and helpful desk clerks.
