Captains Lodge

The location was wonderful and perfect for the location of the wedding and reception that we were attending that weekend. Our host Kathy was lovely and very helpful with her information on Newbiggin itself. The room we had was perfect for our needs with plenty of teas and coffee. If you are early for check in, as we were by 90 minutes, it might be still worth ringing the bell to see if your room is ready

The parking was a bit of a challenge but resolved when once the small car park next door was opened up. Slightly disappointed that there was no breakfast available although we were helpfully given advice as to where to best eat

We loved the friendliness of the host. We loved the proximity to the beach. Enjoyed having our refreshments in the garden overlooking the sea

Was central for everything I wanted to go and do throughly enjoyed my stay would go again .And the host was so helpful and lovely to talk to .

Fantastic views over sea from upstairs bedroom. Quite a few steps to negotiate so not entirely suitable for those with mobility issues No breakfast but that suited us as we prefer to eat later. Plenty of tea and coffee available in room

Nothing that bothered us but to others it may be an issue. On going out you use front entrance where there are several stone steps to negotiate

Fabulous host, she made it feel like we were staying with family. Room also had a gorgeous sea view, we could hear the waves and it was great to fall asleep to.
