Hotel Atavai

This place is perfect if one wants peace and quiet during one´s visit to Easter Island. It is located somewhat away from the "downtown" area of Hanga Roa, so the only sound one hears from town is basically the church bells playing melodies once in a while. The rooms are of good standard with firm nice beds, the showers deliver really hot water (even if it is a little dangerous as it keeps shifting between super-hot and cold without warning....), the breakfast, which was an extra for us, is great and the staff is very nice and helpful. There are two drawbacks: 1) the sketchy Internet, but without knowing, I suspect that this is an Easter Island issue, rather than something specific to this hotel. Given the location/isolation, having ANY Internet is quite a feat.....; 2) If getting into the centre of town often is a requirement, it is important to be aware that this is about 15 minutes´ walking from the hotel. With a rental car (almost a must while on Easter Island), this "problem" is solved....

Accueil : peu chaleureux Chambre : grande avec rangements , lit moyennement confortable , coqs à proximités qui font de bruit quasiment nuit et jour. Salle de bain : tres bien , eau chaude Extérieur : petite table sympathique Localisation : rien autour, loin de tout (15-20min de la rue principale), pas très loin de l'aéroport (5min en taxi , faisable à pieds) Services : possibilité de laver + sécher ses affaires pour 10 000 pesos. Cependant demandez bien combien de machines ils vont faire avec vos habits car sans nous prévenir ils ont voulu nous en facturer deux (finalement non car nous avons râlé)

Se trata de un pequeño hotel en la periferia de Hanga Roa. A pesar de que la distancia al centro es corta, aprox 1 km, la movilidad no es tan fácil a menos que se pague un taxi (3000 pesos chilenos), ya que un tramo de calle no está pavimentada. Las instalaciones del hotel son sencillas y cómodas. La atención de Antoine es increíble, siempre amable y dispuesto a auxiliarte en lo necesario.

Hôtel simple, accueillant, reposant, mais un peu éloigné du centre à pied. Le personnel de la réception est disponible et compréhensif. Je conseille. Bon rapport qualité/prix.

Great price wonderful people

The staffs are very friendly and just the hotel i wanted.

This was a tiny place, at the end of a muddy dirt road. The room was cold and humid, not much in way of comfort. WiFi was so slow, essentially nonfunctional, plus no cell signal, so do not expect to connect. The staff was friendly, as they are really trying hard. The place is basically non accessible without a car - rental car can be easily arranged by the way. I guess there was some charm to the remoteness of the place, kind of fitting for the remote corner of the world of an island. A place the sleep is all.

Værelset og de fælles områder var rene og pæne, og værelset blev gjort rent hver dag. Servicen var også helt i top, da jeg ville booke ture rundt for at se øen. Der var dog en enkelt eftermiddag/aften, hvor strømmen gik grundet et væltet træ (så vidt jeg kunne forstå, var strømmen gået i det meste af Hanga Roa), men i denne situation var man lidt overladt til sig selv, da der ikke fandtes et eneste stearinlys på hotellet, som man kunne få lov at låne. Da jeg ankom, blev jeg lidt overrasket over beliggenheden, men dette skyldes temmelig sikkert min egen manglende research på dette område. Hotellet ligger cirka 20 minutters gang fra hovedgaden i Hanga Roa, men i og med at det ligger lidt uden for selve byen, så er der dejlig stille og roligt :-) Der er wifi på hotellet, men det var lidt op og ned om der var forbindelse til det eller ej, men igen så er man på en ø ude midt i Stillehavet, og så er det forståeligt nok, at forbindelsen til internettet kan være lidt svingende. Ud over det manglende lys, så var jeg fuldt ud tilfreds med mit ophold på hotellet, og jeg vil helt klart kunne anbefale det til andre :-)

Service was good, but was noisy with the roosters crowing, dogs barking & noisy neighbors, even the room next door you could hear them laughing & talking at midnight. The road to the hotel was not the best. The water pressure was not the best & the wifi was also not the best.

One of the further hotels from town. I loved my room. I'd recommend if you can put up with the negatives for the room/view. Can see the water and it's like a huge private bungalow on stilts (upgrade for like $10 US a day or something). Said they couldn't call me a taxi to the airport. They had a painter that would come up in the morning to start paining the deck-sometimes before I even left for the day-this lasted for a couple days. Very strange-you'd think they wouldn't be doing work on the room while there was a guest staying in it. Had issues with breakfast-cook would show up late and wouldn't have what you wanted to order (even on days after they claimed they would get ex: cheese). I left money one day on the table for my breakfast-more than required-it had tip. This is the worst part-I went to check out and they said I had a balance on the account for scrambled eggs. I told them that I paid that day. They continued to insist I needed to pay (remind you the amount was nominal too like onlyu $3 US). I went back to my room after the reception made calls or something and told me she believed me I paid. I'm trying to pack up the rest of my room and leave-the reception comes up to my room telling me the owner is insisting that I pay! I already paid! Very annoying. I refused to pay as I already did. This hotel has some improving to do revolving around ownership/management.
