Hotel Atavai

Room was simple but clean. The staff didn't speak much/any English. It's quite far from the city centre, Hanga Roa is tiny but this hotel is situated about a 20min walk from the centre and quite far from all the Moais. Airport pick-up and drop-off isn't included like in most Eastern Island hotels. And since breakfast isn't included I think you pay a lot for just a bed and nothing else. Wifi only worked in the reception building.

Das Hotel ist in einer Sackgasse, 25 Minuten von den ersten Restaurants und Geschäften von Hanga Roa entfernt. Die "Straße" ist nur Schotter und Schlamm. Im Zimmer gibt es keinen Kühlschrank/Wasserkocher oder eine andere Möglichkeit sich etwas zu essen zu machen. Die Lobby sollte offiziell bis 20:00 Uhr besetzt sein, nach 12 war aber niemand mehr da. Da die Zimmer wie in einem Motel angeordnet sind (eher Bungalow-Stil) fühlte es sich aus unserer Sicht nicht gut an, alle Sachen dort zu lassen. Einen Safe gab es auch nicht (weder im Zimmer noch in der Lobby). Das Internet war sehr langsam und hat nur in unmittelbarer Nähe der Lobby funktioniert. Es gab auch keine Klimaanlage und keinen Lüfter.

O hotel é agradável, as pessoas são educadas e receptivas e o ambiente é sempre limpo, porém fica a 20 minutos do centro. O horário de check-out (10 AM) é bem inconveniente.

There was no free shuttle to & from the airport like it was stated but it was close by.

We just booked for one night. The room size and hygiene was good, but the location was not very assessable. (As we were moving from another hostel that day under heavy rain, the location of the hotel was far from the main street, and the route was full of puddles and mud.) One thing was that on the day we leave, we go for a morning walk in early morning and planned to go back for a shower before 12:00, when we arrived at 11:30, we saw all our stuff were moved out to the corridor without notifying us. Though we have certain degree of responsibility that we didn't aware that he check out time was 10:00, it was quite rude to seeing our things were moved out just like trashes. (Especially there were no new comers to our room.)

Inside room facilities were nicely convenient - starting from bed softness, pillow, appropriate cover, shower, WC, etc. Could park scooter next to the room door. The only sad thing I couldn't pay directly to Hotels.com as usual, and hotel owner, instead of accepting cash offer, insisted to send him credit card details over e-mail otherwise to cancel my booking ... And I had to block my card 1m later. I'm sure it was not him leaking the data, but rather gmail usage for this.

Close to the airport n downtown, if you are lucky, upgrade to the ocean view room , it will be excellent, they only have one. They pick you up at the airports and give you all the tour information, good service.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel but it would have been better if I had taken my driving licence so I could hire a moped or car
