Boreland Lodge Hotel

This hotel is a farce. The paint is peeling off the walls, the ceiling is falling due to water damage, the bathrooms have mould, the carpets are dirty, the bed linens are stained, the mattresses are old and uncomfortable, and there is luke warm water available in the bathroom; both in the evening or early morning. WARNING, the actual hotel is nothing like the pictures on the Expedia website.

I the room after reading the blurb on the hotel, It was nice to find that we were to have a Cooked breakfast, only to find out when entering the breakfast room to be told after 25 min wait that they only provide a continental breakfast, toast and coffee, and cereal , not nice when you have driven 9 hours with 2 children all looking forward to a cooked breakfast, then on paying the bill I was asked for more money for the breakfast, I explained that I booked this on line and it included a cooked breakfast witch we did not get. The young man on the reception became very annoying by telling me that the Breakfast was not included and that I would have to pay more, I carried on putting the children and luggage in my car, I was the approached by a young lady from the hotel asking me to return to the hotel and to settle my breakfast bill, I did return with my mobile phone and showed the app that explained what I was paying for and this included breakfast, also I explained I was not happy as in there room they advertise a full cooked Scottish breakfast that we did not get offered, she just walked off saying ok bye. Not happy at all one to be treated by the staff in this way, also the satff were not of this country and made me and my family feel very uncomfortable on leaving. Regards Tom Kerrigan

Was £90 a night so for that the hotel served it's purpose. It's budget. Internet is barely existent. less then dial up when it connects.

It was ok for one night and we were tired but the shower was all mouldy and it was very loud.there was kids hanging about in the front garden at night and when we arrived there was just a key left on a table.

Room was small dirty and no hot water left for shower. Room not what statued in the description when booking hotel

Stay during the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh. Hotel prices are generally increased by 2-300 percent, which means that the standard really never meets the price you are paying for accommodation.

Although we were only there to grab a couple of hours sleep, we chose that hotel based on advertised proximity to Edinburgh airport and easy transportation. Neither was true. The shower stall was mildewy and still had the previous occupant's stuff in it. The heat was on in the room and we couldn't turn it off so I attempted to open a window, to find the window had a broken hinge and was therefore only attached by one other. The staff was of little help.

people on the move the whole night doors opening and closeing shower overflowed fire alarm went off due to somebody smoking

Very good not much noise around except the fire alarm went off twice about 6am.. Will go back to this hotel next time....

Served its purpose as the open golf was at st andrews and accomodation was not easy to find but £85 for a room for 1 person was expensive and breakfast was poor. Bathroom floor and shower very slippery. Free wi fi was good.
