Celeste Mountain Lodge

We had a very nice experience at this property but it is not for everyone. It is a very small property with very basic rooms. No televisions, no pool, the hot tub was not operational when we were there. The grounds and scenery were beautiful and the location great for getting to Tenorio National Park. The meals are included and were great but it is important for people to understand that the meals are what they are. They are served at one time and you get what you get. There is no other menu to order from or other choices. They have a small bar and include water and juice with your meal. Everything shuts down at 10pm. We enjoyed our time there, the staff was fantastic, we would return under the right circumstances.

We really enjoyed our stay of two nights, the staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel is set in large gardens full of wild life as is the surrounding area. Great views from the dining/lounge areas and the dining arrangements afforded the opportunity of meeting fellow travelers. The road up to the lodge is rough but we only had a small 2WD car and by driving slowly had no problem, in fact this is an advantage as we saw many interesting birs on the way. A 4WD vehicle is a must to visit the National Park however we walked there in less than an hour. We would really recommend this lodge to anyone interested in nature.

The lodge staff was so nice and very accommodating. The food was excellent gourmet quality and included in the price of the room.

Very friendly staff that will tell you if you left your hotel bathroom light on during dinner. Be conscious of your carbon footprint if you want to stay here. Cute boutique hotel surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Although I appreciate the eco-friendly concept, this was a bare basic facility in an extremely isolated area accessible only by a terribly bumpy and rocky 4 kilometer stretch of unpaved mountain road. Since there were no other amenities anywhere nearby, all meals were served on site community style on elongated picnic tables. No choices - you were a captive audience and ate what you were served, and not necessarily the most appetizing selections in my opinion. The common spaces were open to the elements. The rooms were austere, with very rough floor tile, minimal bathroom and no hot water in the sink faucet. No glass in the windows, just a screen and adjustable horizontal wood slats that didn't close tight and let in the cold, damp wind, making sleeping uncomfortable. Would only recommend this place to serious back-packers whose sole interest is trekking through the wilderness.

Very relaxing, the food was great.

We loved the location. The view from the lobby/ lounge are was stunning. We loved the food, lunch and dinner were superb! The room is very basic, but has everything you need (no tv or wifi in room- don't need it though. Go enjoy the rainforest :). The only discomfort I had in the room were the pillows- next time I'm bringing own. And I was disappointed that the spa was not working.

Great place, amazing food, lovely hosts, amazing jungle!
