Very friendly staff. Very traditional Japanese style. Loved it.

I had a wonderful stay here for 2 nights. The building is located inside a temple in Gion area in Kyoto. If you want to experience staying in a traditional Japanese room, this is it! Very calm and serene environment. The staff are very warm and welcoming. They dedicate energy and care to every single person staying in the place. Loved my stay there!

We had a great experience and absolutely loved it! Place was clean, breakfast was delicious and staff was outstanding. I can’t say enough good things about them. They were attentive and super helpful, they showed us maps with the attractions and how to get there using different transportation (I.e bus, train, etc). We will definitely go back if we’re in the area.

This is a traditional Japanese Ryokan in the Giom district of Kyoto tucked away at the back of Maruyama Park. You feel like you are in the countryside surrounded by nature miles away from a city but only 10 min walk to shops. The staff are amazingly friendly and take great care of their customers. Rooms are traditional Tatami floor and you sleep on a futon. Best authentic traditional Japanese hotel for travelers.

Amazing location, great staff, comfy rooms and amenities. I will certainly stay here again, given the opportunity.

We loved this place! The staff was kind and welcoming, the location was superb, at walking distance from many sightseeing spots, it was clean and peaceful! Perfect under every aspect! We couldn’t ask for more!

+ nice experience in a typical ryokan based in the park + The little hot bath + The spacious room and the calm around the area - Hard futon, careful if back problems - No dinner, only a frugal breakfast. Pricey for what you get - Our room entrance was a tunnel of 3 feet...so you had to bend to go in and out. Very bad for the back again

Excellent authentic feel, great hospitality, would highly recommend. A little bit tricky to find, so I would definitely print out the information that the ryokan provides to give to the taxi.
