Atlas Motor Lodge

The hotel is old, but the bed was comfortable, clean (again, old, but you're not in midtown Manhattan). A/C worked great, loved the full size fridge. The lady @ the desk was lovely and told me about several things to see in the area. The Hudson River Walkway was 2 min. away and pretty impressive. The diner up the road (1 min.) was dated, but nice staff and good food. (The grilled chicken salad with cranberries was delish). I would stay here again if in the area.

Upon arrival the we encountered a man who understood almost no English and looked like he just got out of bed...it was 7:30 PM. The lobby was overwhelmed with cooking smells...we asked for ice and were told they would have to get it and it would take 15 minutes. there was no public ice machine. The room was small. The TV and cable wasnt hooked u\p someone had to come and do it..he also didnt understand much English. When we went to heat our food ,we blew a fuse and were then told you cant run the TV and Microwave at the same time...Really!!!! Needless to say the best thing about the hotel was we laughed alot at how ridiculous things were! if you happened to be a person of larger size ...the bathroom would have been an issue.

I really can't say enough about how lovely the staff here were. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

People are nice. If you are just looking for a place to stay it is fine. If you are looking for a 5 star experience keep looking.

Updated rooms at a conveniently located older property - large and clean room with couch, comfy beds, fridge and micro. Bath not updated and was small and cramped with only a shower stall. Wifi worked well, but no free bkfst. Some street noise as located just off a busy street. Staff friendly and a great diner just up the street.

I have stayed here many times. Staff is fantastic and welcoming.

Spent one night. Not a 5 star resort but clean and a comfortable bed.

The hotel is older. Our room could have used a bathroom remodel, but it was very clean and the management was very nice and helpful. It was farther off the highway than I would have liked (we were passing through), but all in al, I was happy and would stay there again.

I had a good feeling about this motel the moment I checked in. The owner was friendly, welcoming and provided me with information I needed to know about the area. When I got to my room, I was extremely impressed with everything. It was clean, had good quality furniture and all the ammenities I was hoping for and then some. In fact, it was a lot nicer than a more expensive motel I stayed at the previous night. I highly recommend this motel to anyone who is staying in the Highland area and it will be my first choice if I return to that area in the future. The Atlas Motel is also very close, and easy to get to the Poughkeepsie Metro-North Railroad station for those who want to take the train to New York City or surrounding area.
