Reasonably priced

Although it was clean it was very tatty particularly the bathroom. Stained washbasin, loose seat on WC ,poorly fitted flooring

Good parking. Good location. Lovely indoor swimming pool. Nice BBQ area, although we didn't use either.

tiny "living" room area, and kitchen. Only one lounge chair. In short, cramped for 4 adults.

Was very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly.

The price was the best commodity. Our family booked 4 rooms there. Our family room 10, was not as good as the other 3 booked.

Fan down stairs was broken. The air conditioner didn't work properly. It was hit and muggy in our room. Lawns were not done. Bathroom door wouldn't close. Stairway is steep. Access to the double bed would be hard to get to it you are not fit for purpose. 😉 And the worst thing, when my sister checked me in, she said that the person handling reception just came out of the toilet, when he turned to grab the key she saw that he was in his underwear. She didn't say anything until later on. Disgusting. The staff looked like they didn't want to work there. But, they did the best they could with what they had. The pool was cold and untidy. A large chlorine block was able to be accessed by our kids. They broke it up to clean the pool themselves. Yes, they were aged over 14. Seeing the block there made them think someone forgot to out it into the water. One 14yr old was rushed to hospital with a chemical reaction. This could be our fault, however, chlorine blocks should be stored adequately. The cupboard was unlocked and open. In saying this, as a family we enjoyed whakatane and each other's company. Their rooms were fine. It was room.10 that was problematic. But, I suppose for the price... 2 nights, 4 adults and a baby for $428. That's a bargain. The facility can do better. It is a waste left in that condition. Motel is located right next door to a cemetery. So a bit more TLC would go a long way to improving your business.
