The Remington Suite Hotel and Spa

Property is nice, walkable and comfy beds. Downside is our room (212) had a AC unit above the bathtub in our room with ZERO insulation above it.= VERY loud and VERY cold. Thermostat set on 66 could not be adjusted :(

I don't know if I will ever believe Expedia reviews again. This is not a nice hotel. The person who checked me in was nice enough. But the huge lobby was dark as if they were trying to save on electricity and our room felt like a dungeon. In what was basically 3 consecutive rooms in our hotel room, there was one window, total, and the window was frosted and had bars on it. No natural light at all. We felt like we were in the basement, and we paid for the "VIP" room! The decor in the hotel and the room was very dated. I was not comfortable sitting on the upholstered furniture because it didn't appear clean. The toilet seat had a huge yellow stain on it. I didn't feel comfortable having a shower because the color of the bathroom tiles made it difficult to determine if they were clean. The entire hotel had a strange odor. The outside door to the hotel would not close properly and was not self-locking. Anyone from the street could walk in and walk directly to our room. I barricaded the door with chairs to feel safe. There were no amenities at all except for a closet with things you could purchase like bottled water and such. I will never stay here again.

Had i listened to the negative reviews i would have missed this beaitiful gem .What one perceived as outdated, i claim historical and some had a modern flare. Each room had its own identity and i aim to say in each one eventually. We stayed in the Gainsboro on the 2nd floor and it was spacious and inviting.! The bed was soft and accomodations enough. Each staff member was nice and helpful.

The decor and vibe of the property was excellent. Pleasant emoloyees.

I had the best stay here while in town visiting my son at the BAFB. Every staff member was absolutely amazing. They were all friendly, helpful and went above and beyond for me. Definitely will be my go to place to stay for any future visits. The rooms were great and very clean with comfortable beds. Honestly though, the staff above everything, made this place amazing for me and for that I’m very grateful.

The room I stayed in was nice. Found it cool that each room has its own theme. Despite the outdated nature of the area it’s in, the hotel was a refreshing contrast. Would stay again

The Remington is a unique boutique hotel that could be quite attractive with some better amenities. The breakfast bar is a limited cold item offering below the level of even the most budget-conscious chain that includes a morning breakfast. WiFi and TV connection was weak and subject to intermittent loss of signal. TV service is a ROKU streaming box that probably is fine for anyone familiar with it but frustrating to someone unfamiliar with the service or the remote control. All I wanted was local broadcast news, but could never find it. Wasn’t really interested in streaming news reports from East and West Coast cities that weren’t current, but those were the options easily accessible via Roku. Hotel has a nice bar but no food service, bar snacks or even nibbles like popcorn, peanuts, pretzels, etc. Front desk receptionist pulled multiple duties, including bartender and valet parking. Things like this keep the property from fulfilling its possibilities.

Unique and beautifully preserved boutique hotel, right in downtown Shreveport

The spa experience was terrible. I have been in the past and thought I would go again for a Swedish massage. Laqueasha did not knead or make the massage satisfying at all. She merely flat hand rubbed my back for 12 minutes before I asked if she would be kneading or doing anything else. She told me that I ordered a Swedish massage and that she does not do anything extra like other masseuse may do. After 20 minutes of the massage I felt like I had Indian burn on my back and asked her to stop. I would not recommend this place at all for a massage.
