Gracie Art Hotel 798

From the moment I walked into the hotel, I felt welcomed and taken care of. The staff went the extra mile to make sure that I enjoyed my short stay, from providing written directions to my destination on the subway to walking me out to my taxi. I only wish I could have stayed longer, but will return to stay at this hidden oasis in the central of chaotic Beijing when I return. A wonderful location surrounded by beautiful galleries, street art and cute restaurants.

This was an interesting hotel as it used to be an industrial building and has been converted. My room was large and had high ceilings. It had a good size ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee facilities and on the first evening they provided a small bottle of wine and some fruit. The foyer is nice and spacious too. The best thing about the hotel is that it is in a very arty area. When I was there I was right next to the venue for Beijing Fashion Week and all the models and artists were nearby. The breakfast was a little spartan but maybe it was because I wasn't the first to get there so a lot of things had been eaten. Also the hotel mentioned that room service is available but there is no menu and really you have to go to the restaurant to order anything. But it was all fine and clean and I would stay again.

제가 북경에서 대학졸업하고나서 출장으로 오랜만에 갔는지라 좀 비싼 좋은호텔에서 보내야지 하는 생각에 갔는데 접근성은 진짜 최최최 악이에요 완전 변두리지역이에요 왠만하면 비추합니다. 그리고 조식도 엄청 진짜 그냥 빵 몇개주는 수준이에요. 솔직히 위생상태는 좋으나 접근성이 정말 최악입니다 주변에 편의시설 아무것도 없고 이쪽가는길이 북경에서 제일 길막히는 도로중 한군데에요 참고하세요

Beijing is a big city so it is always difficult to judge if the location is convenient or not. But if you want to visit Beijing 798 art district, this would be the perfect place to stay as it is located exactly there. The room is clean and charming, it is quiet at night but save . What makes me continue to stay @ Grace is not only for my work purpose but also their excellence customer services - their staffs are not only polite but understand your needs and provide "customized" services that you feel much taken care. Free Breakfast is provided in buffet style and their lunch / dinner menu has good choices of western cuisines which are nicely done and presented (price is mid range). The room rate depends on how you compare - comparing "local" hotel, Grace is a little bit more expensive but their services and total experience is a lot better. Caveat is that it is near one of the popular exhibition venue so once a while it could be packed with lots of people outside and the security for the entrance could be a bit hassle. It is also near to one of the famous mall - indigo...

Extremely warm, friendly, welcoming, comfortable beds - and the staff speak English!

This is our fifth day at Gracie Art Hotel, also known as Yi house, in the 798 Art district of Beijing. SUCH a different experience from the brand high end hotels, but with the same special touches, from the high thread sheets, lovely pillows, to the fluffy robes and slippers. Even more amenities than one might expect at a four seasons, two types of tea/coffee machines, hair dryer, laundry service, dry cleaning service, plus unexpected treats at turn down, fruit on a plate, a bottle of wine, etc. High quality, multi lingual staff (yes proficient with English), enhanced our experience, from greeting us by name, arranging for a lovely car and driver for a day long excursion to the great wall, recommending (spot on) restaurants. Think Bed and Breakfast meets the Fairmont, Very attentive, high determination on tending to every need, yet unobtrusive. I am a light sleeper, but the rooms are sound proof and I was not woken by outside noise, not even once. Do not miss the restaurant. Chef is attentive to every detail. As art aficionados being in the 798 district was heaven, but for history buffs (all military machinery was made here under the Mao reign) the 798 district will propel them over the moon. This experience will appeal to any human soul who wishes to get a glimpse of something old and brutal (factories which served the purpose of war) transformed into something beautiful and functional, housing sculpture, paintings, pottery, images that feed the soul rather than destroying it, will love the 798 district and even more so, the artsy Gracie/Yi House, Arts hotel. (The shopping was fun too.) It was exactly what I was hoping for when my husband and I planned a trip to Beijing. Not too far from other sites we wanted to explore and we have managed this trip sans guide, and easily so, with the assistance of the hotel staff. Bravo, Gracie Art staff, Bravo!

Hyggelig hotell i 798 Art District. Vennlig og service innstillt betjening, som snakker engelsk. God seng. God frokost (velg mellom kontinental, Amerikansk, Kinesisk mm), samt middag ala carte. Men - vanskelig å finne hotellet, (kom ikke opp i Didi appen), og feil markert på iPhone kart. Tips print ut kart og ta med på Kinesisk, Totalt sett fin opplevelse, og sentralt hvis du skal besøke Art District.

Ex industrial building that had been converted into a boutique hotel with SoHo loft style high ceiling, real wood floors, large windows with subtle traditional Chinese touch on closets had reminded me my times in New York City, more specifically, Brooklyn. Rooms are very clean and adequately sized. Breakfast restaurant is very fancy with options to choose variety of menu including full American, Chinese, and Japanese. It isn't a typical breakfast buffet. It's more of a restaurant. A boutique hotel in Asia are really hard to come by and I especially appreciate rehabilitation of old industrial buildings in which, once again, do not happen that often in Asia and most of them get torn down for new, modern but typical boring buildings.
