Gracie Art Hotel 798

798예술촌 초입에 위치하여 798관광에 아주 유리하였고, 호텔 자체도 짜임새있게 꾸려지고 객실도 넒직하였음. 호텔종사자들이 아주 친절하고 적극적으로 도와주는 자세가 매우 인상적이었음. 향후에도 북경 방문 기회가 있으면 재투숙 예정임.

주위에 볼거리가 많아 하루에 다 구경하기에는 부족하다 아침식사는 부페는 아니지만 선택할수 있는 메뉴로 다양하게 갖추고 있어서 훌륭했다 직원들의 친절함에 주위가 공사중이었지만 추천하고 싶은 호텔이었다

It was a great stay but there was noise coming from the neighboring building ALL NIGHT LONG. Sounded like construction or something but it was pretty terrible.

We were a family of six persons travelling to Beijing to visit all the good places. We stayed at the Gracie art Hotel in the 798 Art District of Beijing. The area is already now a cool place with cafes, restaurants, shops and exhibitions etc. The hotel staff were very helpfull and serviceminded. The breakfast was fine also for our Danish taste, and the rooms are big and clean. Also a nice restaurant. The hotel was recommended to me from a friend, and I will also recommend if you are looking for a nice hotel in a good location.

It’s an interesting “art hotel”, even when all the pictures at the walls in the hallway disappeared one day. We had 1 week of stay and had a rate negotiated with the guest relationship manager lady. Service of front desk and guest relationship was very friendly and nice. One day, as I verified if that rate applies for our company as well, one new guy approached us, when we were about to leave, telling us that the hotel is small and has only 30 rooms. As there’s an art execution, “he can’t offer that rate any longer”. Never saw that guy, he’s obviously not the owner, neither a real manager. Result was: we moved out and nobody from our company moved in, now they have more space. Ridiculous to do that. Negotiated rates and clear status, then there some John Doe, not even introducing himself, interfering like this. .. Beside that, it’s not super quiet inside, the surroundings are not noisy. Breakfast was ok. Staff usually friendly. Would I stay there again ? No!

Room was a bit smaller than I expected but was fine for one night. 15-20 taxi ride from BJ international

The hotel lobby and room were beautifully decorated with art pieces. We like the high ceiling in the room however this also meant that getting it heated properly in winter is difficult. Upon request, the hotel provided a portable heater. The neighbourhood is a little run down but is well located if you are looking to spend time in the nearby art precinct. They provide a quality cooked breakfast (choice of continental, American, South East Asian, Japanese & Chinese). The cab fare from the airport is only CNY70, being halfway between airport and Beijing central. The nearest ATM is quite a distance away.

Pros. - comfort bed - friendly and enthusiastic staffs - 30 or less mins from the Capital airport by taxi - located inside of the 798 art district - well served breakfast Cons. - a bit shabby facilities, looking better in pics than through bare eyes - small room with lack of outlets

As most people have said, not the easiest to find so top tip, find the East entrance with the big "798" above it that frequently appears on the news (photo uploaded to help). When facing that from the outside, the hotel is about 400metres left with the entrance down the side road. Disappointingly, we booked it because the site states "airport shuttle" but that's a myth, I'm afraid. They did offer to transport us for RMB (YUAN)400.....how kind ! In any case it's a short journey. A stocked fridge free of charge is a nice touch. Rooms are cosy and bed very comfortable. The heating in the public areas could do with a bit of attention...it was cold....but if not a bit overpriced, this is a lovely hotel. Lots to see around in the Art Zone but be careful...it's easy to get lost so keep your bearings!
