our booking specified a ground floor room. Initially we were given a first floor room with not working TV. It took a while but eventually we got a different room.

The bed and pillows were comfortable, and it's a good location.

We had a double room ( double bed only), and it was a very small room.

Location.

The shower leaked all the time. 44 stairs to climb up to top of 2nd floor. The bed is on wheels and moves around.

The location was very central to everything.

Hair in shower & under toilet seat, out of date food left in the freezer. The room had not been serviced at all in the 3 days we stayed there even though it was stated in there hand book the times the rooms would be cleaned. Staff never stayed on grounds so if you need them you have to wait for them to come back to the hotel.

Musty smell in the room,used mint gum in the bed which ruined my pyjamas and the lipstick on the cup in the room,which indicates to me poor hygiene,especially after I hadn’t realised the mug was dirty prior to drinking and tasted the lipstick.Also the horrible noises in the ceiling,doesn’t help with your sleep.I still don’t understand how used chewing gum ends up in the bed.

We stayed in a family room. Definitely spacious with plenty of beds. The room had all the essentials for your stay. Is the place old - yes it is, but I'm not sure what some people expect from a heritage listed place. The owners have only been there a short time and do have intentions of upgrading the place where allowed. But there is a lot to do. Some starting things will help. If they can put in some cupboards, with sink/taps, that would definitely help as they did provide cutlery, plates and so forth. Also a clothes cupboard would be better. Again a simple hanger was available. In the room we were in, the door to the patio and the entrance door needs to be fixed. I'm not being bad on the place as the people were very nice and were willing to assist and I know these things do take time and money to get sorted and while we were there, they were doing some work in the carpark. The other thing that might be nice is if the main room at the front was turned into a little coffee shop or something like that as there is a nice space there to utilise.
