Casa das Penhas Douradas - Burel Expedition Hotel

This hotel is located at the top of a long, steep road (about a 20 min drive from town) , but well worth the detour. Located almost at the top of the mountain, the views are wonderful and the hotel is beautiful. Decorated in an elegant but relaxed "ski lodge" style, the rooms are clean comfortable and QUIET! The staff was very welcoming (especially Sandra) and the "vibe is relaxed. They offer welcome snacks in the afternoons and a complimentary pre-dinner cocktail while guests are enjoying some quiet time in the many relaxing community sitting areas. They offered a guided morning hike to see the surrounding areas and the magnificent views and you can have a tour of the Burell fabric factory down in town. Another worthwhile detour! Overall the welcoming staff, the delicious food and the beautiful views made for a wonderful getaway.

Hotel lindo com localização perfeita. Atendimento ótimo. Somente o banheiro do quarto com varanda muito pequeno . Mas valeu a hospedagem por todo o resto estar excelente.

Hotel conceito.. pouco quartos mas muito bem cuidado... fica a uns 20 minutos do ponto mais alto da serra da estrela. O lugar eh muito bonito. E pelo que vi .. esre e um dos melhires hoteis da regiao.

The staff at the hotel were very nice, and the couple's massage we had was great. The room was consistently too hot and the bed wasn't very comfortable, but the view from the room was lovely. Breakfast and the afternoon snacks were very nice, and the chef catered to my dairy allergy really well for dinner.

Quarto muito apertado e infelizmente o restaurante serviu uma refeição bem aquém do esperado .

山區的4星酒店，地勢高，可以以遠眺。那天吃飯，老闆有出來跟每桌客人聊天，他們另一家五星級酒店在200公尺外的地方，view很好，或許大家可以參考

It was best accomodation ever. Fancy design, wonderful surroundings, very very kind staffs, luxury service and nice experience. If you have to stay only one hotel in portugal, don't hasitate. This hotel is the only one answer. I will recomand every my aquintance everyday. Best best hotel.

Beautiful views from this cosy design hotel at 1500 meters altitude. Very welcoming staff, who truly made you feel at home. Lot of attention for little details, lot of nice places to chill inside and outside. Excellent breakfast, and good appetizer buffet in the afternoon! Would be nice to stay in the winter as well!
