Thornbury Lodge

Thornbury Lodge was an excellent choice for a single nights stay with friends. The rooms are spacious and beds were comfortable. Located within a golf complex, it was peaceful too and breakfast in the clubhouse was superb.

A bit tricky getting the right temperature for the shower.

Rooms need a very deep professional clean, the bathroom & shower area are just dirty & not cleaned to an expected standard for guests. On the night we stayed, a group staying on the ground floor (presume golfers) decided to use the common area outside the rooms as a party area. They were very noisy until late which disturbed our ability to get to sleep & the place stank of alcohol. I complained on the duty manager number but no response. I have stayed here a number of times but will look elsewhere. You can tell the staff generally are not used/trained to look after outside guests....

Fabulous settings with views of golf course. A peaceful and very serene location, easy to unwind and relax. Really good restaurant and bar area with helpful and happy staff. Room was huge, bed was very comfortable with a clean and roomy bathroom. Stayed two nights as we were at Badminton horse trials, just a 20 minute drive away. There are lots of places to eat and drink within a 1 mile radius of the lodge if you wanted to eat out.

Would have been good to have the Tea and coffee facilities replenished for our 2nd night Stay but not the end of the world.

Poor shower. Hot and cold didn't mix properly. Scalding Or Freezing No tea bags Cannot open a window 😒

Clean room, amazing location

Bathroom needs a refurb, room wasn’t serviced at all, staff in golf club not great.

Location was very good for Badminton Horse Trials which we had travelled from Kent to attend. The lunch we had (mixed meat platter) was delicious. Bed was very comfortable.

We didn't like no breakfast being included or even provided. There was not even one, let alone 2, armchairs in the room so it was hard to relax when we got back from a busy day out. The staff behind the bar were not very attentive. We had to originate communication each time after standing, waiting for a while.
