Thornbury Lodge

We thought Thornbury Lodge was lovely, set in beautiful grounds with stunning views, a lovely building and the room was lovely and spacious, really nicely done, everything we needed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A 5 star stay that couldn’t be faulted. Also very good value for money.

Location ideal for North Bristol

Room was clean but dingy. No food or bar after 8pm. Staff were ok but had a take it or leave it attitude…not great hospitality.

Nearby parking, quiet location … use of facilities at golf club

Nothing much … fridge would be handy

It was jaded and in need of a refurb but most importantly it needed a thorough deep clean. Toilet seat not been cleaned in a long time, cobwebs, dusty etc. Was told at check in that food was available until 19:45 (this was also written in the welcome info) and when I went to order at 18:55 I was told they’d stopped serving. Another resident told me they ran out of some dishes and the chef was getting annoyed. I can’t verify that of course, but it meant i had to leave the site and drive to find an evening meal. This place has so much potential but needs some tlc.
