Pelican Beach Hotel

We stayed here 6 nights, and we had a rental car. The location is very good, close to the beach. The staff was invariably friendly and helpful. Gracie really stepped up and rescued us when we foolishly did not realize until the day prior to coming here that the last ferry would leave the same time as our United flight landed. She helped with getting a private ferry and a car rental. It is great that the barracuda bar and restaurant is on location; perfect for an evening drink or dinner. We ate here twice and liked the food a lot. The pasta was very well prepared and the grilled snapper sandwich was fresh and tasty. I saw some reviewers complaining about the food: but everything we ate was freshly prepared and tasty. Perhaps the cheese burger, which I did not try, feels more bland since it is probably frozen meat. I didn’t try the breakfast but the macchiato and the espresso were top notch. Our room was very nice. Yes, this is not a luxury hotel (and they make that clear on the website) and the bathroom is certainly dated, but the room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Finally, if you spend several days on the Caicos islands you really should rent a car. And it was one thing that was not much more expensive than in the US. The car allows you to go to some other great beaches and restaurants.

This little hotel tucked away in Whitby, North Caicos is a dream. Highly recommend staying here. You will be off the beaten path but close to the hotel restaurant and bar. The beach is spectacular and steps from your room. Grace is a wonderful manager and Wilinise is a fantastic server at the restaurant. The Pelican Beach Hotel is a local gem! We will be back for sure!

I stayed here for five nights in early January. On the plus side, the location is indeed superb—right on the beach—and most of the staff were genuinely friendly. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The owner, whom we met on the last day, wasn’t friendly at all—no smiles, no asking how our stay was going, and no “safe trip” wishes when we left, which felt quite cold. The room itself wasn’t properly cleaned—beyond finding a dirty makeup-stained towel, the floor had black hair everywhere and clearly hadn’t been swept well. The food was a major letdown: everything tasted like it came straight from the freezer, from breakfast through dinner. Given the isolated location, you’re pretty much stuck eating on-site unless you rent a car or pay around $200 round-trip for a taxi to go anywhere else. Also, be warned: the beach directly in front of the property is not the classic calm Caribbean water you might expect. Because this part of North Caicos is exposed to the Atlantic Ocean currents, the water was rough and unswimmable—at least when we were there. Add in the sargassum seaweed that they never cleaned up, and about 80% of the beach was unusable. On top of that, no one warned us about the sand flies, and I ended up covered in itchy bites for days afterward. For the price we paid, I expected a lot more care and basic maintenance. In short: lovely location, but a lot of preventable issues. I wish I’d known these details before booking.

Pelican Beach Hotel was a fantastic little hotel. Now it does not have the amenities like a larger hotel but that being said it didn’t disappoint. Donna was absolutely brilliant and took care of any needs or issues we had. She set us up with a local guide to go snorkeling, recommended beaches to go to. Bambarra and Wild Cow Run were definitely highlights. Due to it being the off/shoulder season, We were the only guests at the hotel so it felt like we had the island to ourselves. The hotel had better WiFi than the bigger resort (Tuscany) we stayed at on Provo. The Barracuda Beach bar had some of the best food on the island. The fettuccine was really quite tasty (Weird but true). Breakfast was served every morning and was delicious and simple. Kay gave an absolutely amazing massage. Definitely a great experience.

This property was clean and quiet. The staff was very nice and the restaurant on the property had very good food.

My trip was a beautiful experience I feel blessed to experience the paradise Nice people very safe and pleasant 10/10 Returning!

I had an amazing journey on this trip. I actually cried when I got on the airplane to go back home. I have been treated with nothing but love and kindness my entire experience from the front desk and the owner to the staff the my two favorite people Ms.Willis and Mr. Kenneth were amazing. The food was excellent customer service, top-tier and the serenity on this beautiful paradise Island and I Love it!!! Many people were intrigued from my photos I shared on social media and they wanted to know where exactly I was. I will only tell a few vetted people who I believe. I deserve it for this Paradise and quality care. I can go on for days about how beautiful this experience was and also I would like to thank Michael for connecting to everything I needed to make the cherry on top of my vacation. this place gets 100 stars. I feel truly blessed that God allowed me to land on this hidden gem that I call my new Paradise I love y’all. and thank you Mr. Kenneth for teaching me about different parts of the world that I’m interested in traveling too soon. Donna and her staff are the most attentive and helpful people I know. One night my husband asked about the coconuts hanging from the trees and the next morning a staff member showed up at ou door with two of them. If you get the chance to reserve the Sea Fan room do it. It is actually an apartment with a spectacular view of the ocean and cost less per night then any other hotel rooms.

Donna and the staff went over the top to make our stay enjoyable. The cracked conch at the restaurant/outside bar was sooo good - definitely fresh! We will be returning !!!

The property is beautifully maintained with a quiet, clean beach and friendly staff, perfect for a peaceful getaway. However, if you're looking for a location with easy access to food and entertainment options, this may not be the best fit. The hotel advertised breakfast as included, which is just a small bowl of fruit, a piece of pastry, and a glass of juice. There is only one on-site restaurant, and it operates from 12 PM to 8 PM, limiting dining flexibility. Taxi services arranged through the property are very expensive ($25 one way), even for short trips to restaurants. While I enjoyed the tranquil beach, the lack of food options and high transportation costs were very disappointing.
