Red Lion Hotel

Absolutely amazing hotel. We stayed here after visiting the Harry Potter Studios as it’s only a 20 minute drive away. We had a family room which consisted of a large bed and sofa bed. Both beds were very comfortable. The room itself was stunning, little touches like a coffee machine, kettle and mini bar if needed. The shower was incredible! We had a bath included in the room but we didn’t use it. The room was very quiet, to say it’s above a pub we couldn’t hear any noise. We booked the room which included breakfast and we were not disappointed, the breakfast choices were very good and the food was incredible. We didn’t have dinner at the pub, we chose to eat out at a restaurant in the town. The town is small but there’s plenty of choices for eating out. Don’t hesitate to book, you won’t regret it. It’s a home away from home.

The room was really nice. The soundproofing was excellent in the room. Very very comfortable - slept like a baby!Bed breakfast was absolutely amazing and overall facilities were great. We were there for a party and it was just nice to be very local and then not to have any noise, even though we’re still in the pub while the bar was still open. Would highly recommend.

My family and I stayed here for a night prior to the funeral and reception for our aunt. From the moment of initial booking, throughout the arrangements, until we said our farewells yesterday, we were really well looked after. On the night of our stay we all had a fabulous meal (my husband, a steak aficionado rated his bavette cut the best ever!) and then slept in very comfortable beds in lovely bedrooms. Breakfast was delicious for all. The reception/wake was done brilliantly, with really tasty food. The staff looking after us were amazing - a big shout out to Paul who did the initial booking and then to Simone and team who looked after us yesterday. Thank you for making this day one to remember for all the best of reasons.

Property was clean, welcoming and a great homely feeling. Staff were exceptional could not say enough about them, was a great stay and our young kids were treated soo well, we will be back.
