Fantastic small hotel , excellent location , clean and they serve great food especially breakfasts The staff are very friendly and helpful I would recommend a stay in this hotel .

This is our second time we have come back! And we are going to book the third time soon! Firstly, this hotel is amazing! Super clean and the decor is just nothing but a touch of class. But regardless the staff are 10/10 super friendly, bubbly everyone makes you feel super welcome , and everyone really makes sure you have a great time. The rooms are spotless, and there’s plenty of space! And I love the beams in the ceiling. Carri you are nothing but a ray of sunshine! I hope the hotel keep you as your made for this job! This young lady has gone above and beyond, and the hotel really wouldn’t be the same without you! Keep smiling and keep being you! You have a great personality and we love you! Thankyou. Jordan

The hotel is in a lovely location and convenient for a variety of country walking, and independent shopping, nearby in Steyning. The hotel staff are friendly as well as the residents in the pub And it is very dog friendly.

It is very noisy if you stay overlooking the car park and there is a large extractor fan that comes on very early in the morning. It was hot when we stayed and we had the windows open. Big mistake. The coffee at breakfast was terrible. It was served in jugs and it was weak and tasted of sugar. I told the waitress and she offered to get me a proper coffee from the machine. I asked for an Americano, no milk and she bought me a coffee with milk. I gave up and went to a coffee shop in Steyning. The cooked breakfast was good though. It’s not the best value accommodation but it is In the middle of stunning Sussex countryside.

The castle Inn was a lovely place to stay our garden view room was fab, spacious and really clean. The staff were so friendly and could not do enough for you organising booking for our evening meal. We were walking the South Downs Way and it was a great stop over, just off the path, although up and down a hill. Both our evening meal and breakfast were really tasty and well presented. We will certainly be back.

Nice walk along the river to the pub from the South Downs Way. Large room, warm and clean.

The room where we had dinner was really dull, no place settings, cutlery in a beer mug. Felt this room lets the hotel down. It would have been a nicer experience to eat in the bar area. Also, breakfast was poorly managed. Guest had to get up and down for everything and ask and wait around for cutlery, plates, glasses, hot water etc. as there were none available. Could do with a larger area so all you need can be laid out or it would be easier if the tables were set.
