The host Dirk, was very friendly and made us feel at home. Breakfast was very nice. Beautiful sea views and of table mountain. Very neat and clean. Will definitely stay there again.

Not great value for money

The host, Dirk, was very attentive and very helpful. The bedroom had a seaview, was spacious, well equipped, very clean and the bathroom had a roomy shower. There were facilities to bring food in to eat, dishes and crockery provided, also fresh water available. Breakfast was plentiful, cereals, fruit, yogurt and a hot choice every day as well as toast, butter jams etc. Lovely coffee from the machine too. Lots of small chill out areas around the guest house as well as a pool and 2 covered terrace areas. About a 15 minute walk to many bars, restaurants and shops although booking is recommended at restaurants at the weekend as the town is busy Saturday and Sunday. The beach is just around the corner and stretches for several kilometres so very popular for locals walking their dogs. A great way to work off the big breakfast.

Nothing not to like although the staircase to the upper bedrooms could pose a problem for people with mobility issues

OVERALL THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN. HOST WAS FRIENDLY

WE WERE ALLOCATED 3 ROOMS - 3, 4 UPSTAIRS AND 8 DOWNSTAIRS. WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF WE COULD BE ON ONE FLOOR. ROOM 3 DID NOT HAVE A MICROWAVE OR A FRIDGE MAKING IT A BIT INCONVENIENT ROOM 4 TOILET WAS LOOSE AND THE QUILT ON THE BED HAD DIRTY STAINS THE COMMUNAL MICROWAVE WAS NOT WORKING UPSTAIRS . WAS NOISY SO WE DIDNT USE IT. ROOM 3 HAD TO USE ROOM 4 MICROWAVE. TOWELS ARE NOT CHANGED EVERYDAY, WHEN CLEANERS CLEAN THE BATHROOM TOWELS ARE MIXED SO WE COULDNT USE THEM. ENDED UP USING SWIMMING TOWELS STAIRCASE LEADING TO ROOMS 3 AND 4 IS NOT SAFE. FOR THE PRICE WE PAID I WOULD NOT THINK THAT WE GOT VALUE FOR OUR MONEY. WE HAD A FAMILY EMERGENCY TO ATTEND TO IN THE NORTHERN CAPE. WE REQUESTED A POSTPONEMENT OR REFUND ON 19 NOV AND AGAIN 2 DAYS BEFORE OUR BOOKING BUT DIRK WAS NOT VERY ACCOMMODATING. WE HAD TO MAKE USE OF THE BOOKING IN ORDER TO NOT LOSE OUR MONEY AND ATTEND TO OUR EMERGENCY LATER. HE INFORMED ME THAT WE WILL LOOSE OUR MONEY R21400.00.

Absolutely stunning view. Pool area is beautiful day and lit up at night. Pity it was a bit chilly, would have loved a night swim. Sandcastle is a beautiful venue.
