Especially the host was incredible, super nice, helpful and frendly. Also, the price for value is pretty much the best out there on Madeira and since most people rent a car there, it is fairly close to Funchal. Definitely recommend strongly!

Absolutely everything! No words can describe our experience. Our room (# 15) was a two individual beds on the 2nd floor, with the view over the inner garden, swimming pool and marvelous landscape to the sea (Desertas island can be seen from the top of the main gate - to the left side). The balcony is shared with two other rooms, with hand-made table and chairs of wicker and wood. Drying rack can be provided. Clean and quiet, we were had with blankets and heating system for cooler summer nights. TV is also included (but honestly we only noticed in our last night!) A common salon for breakfast, relaxing and talking with other guests is a nice place to rest your feet after some levadas and veredas. All place is inspired with the sympathy of Mister António, who welcomed us since day 1 and along our journey, suggesting us places to visit and advising whenever the weather changed and risky places were not advised to visit for safety reasons. We would definitely recommend you to stay here. Specially, who's looking for a retreat in a local village, near to the church and a famous pastery with local and delicious local treasures open all week! As Mister António suggest, to reach this spot from the airport, follow the directions Gaula/Porto Novo (route from the coastline and way up the hill) and avoid Gaula/São Pedro (route from the coastline and way down the hill) due to few narrow and steepy streets where only one car cross. Nice place to stay, if you have a car more usefull , but busses stop Near by , owner excellent host , quiet and calm

Great host, Antonio, made us feel at home. We took a dip in the pool with the family and enjoyed every second Asked us to write something for his guest book which is a nice touch. Would be my to go to place again in Madeira without a doubt Parking was available outside the property for free

nice basic place, it was possible to use the kitchen and put food in the fridge, pool was nice and refreshing

no screens on the windows so there were moskitos in the room. the garden seems a little bit neglected

The host was very friendly and welcoming. The room was nice and clean. The view of the pool was fun.

There was a lot of noise in the area. The church bells rang every 15 minutes and there were a lot of dogs who barked all the time.

Clean, quiet and comfortable. The location is perfect to visit eastern Madeira.

The bell's of the church ringing at 6 am could be picky if you have a fragile sleep. For me it was ok as it is (almost) my normal wake-up time.
