AUPrime position in Russell! Loved Portia the cat who visited! Loved the pool & spa and the unit as a whole! Other guests were friendly, which was nice. The position was definitely 10 out of 10. Lovely Cafes and restaurants within 2 minutes walk. Overall we loved our 1st time in Russell!
The decor could certainly do with a spruce up! The noise from Motel next doors Air Conditioning kept my partner awake and he can generally sleep anywhere LOL We did wonder why they supplied ear plugs 🤣😅🤣 Not ideal if you are a light sleeper. When we arrived the bedroom sliding door to little outdoor area was open. Our room when we arrived smelt like someone had been smoking inside but it was the lady in the next room and with only lattice between, the smoke was going straight into our room. I guess for $350 a night we had high expectations.
NZThe location and facilities were great. The rooms were clean and spacious. It was great to be provided with loungers around the pool along with pool towels seperate from the normal bathroom towels. There were also a few extra's provided in the bathroom that were unexpected like makeup removal sheets.
No Air conditioning, so I had two sleepless nights because it was so hot. The place seemed to attract a lot of middle aged to retired people which makes AC even more important with hot flushes on top of the heat. There were fans provided but they just circulated the hot air. The pool could also have been cleaner and we didn't see anyone attending the spa, so we didn't use it. There was shampoo and body wash provided but no conditioner.

The next door rooms both held smokers who felt it was ok to smoke on the rear patio area even though it connected with our room. As non smokers we found the smell objectionable.

NZPool was the best thing there.
Room was ultra basic for price paid. Bed hard as rock. Ranchslider very difficult to lock. When told staff member it was almost shrugged off. Room so hot and only had a wee fan that did not oscillate or cool room. A guide book how to use tv would be handy. Sand on floor and outside enclosed area. ? Room properly cleaned after last person.

I cant fault the experience at all
NZThe motel was in the perfect spot to enjoy Russell waterfront with cafes, restaurants, waterfront walks and amazing sunsets. The motel was very nicely decorated with most amenities availble. The motel's amenities were of a high quality. The staff and owner were very friendly and it felt like a home away from home. Highly recommended and will return in the future.
