Holiday Inn Express Chongqing Guanyinqiao by IHG

I arrived at midnight and the attendant quickly took me to the Check in desk. The reception was warm and friendly but I was so tired. Right away she upgraded me to the penthouse business class at the top 26th floor. I wonder if they were out of rooms? The only thing was she didn't know how to make my chip Visa card work so I paid cash. The room was huge with a living room and at least 2 couches. Huge floor to ceiling windows offered a spectacular view, but who needs that when you are tired. Just so much more to do, such as close curtains and find light switches before going to sleep. The entrance closet didn't have hangers but the bedroom closet did. It was 34degrees today and the air conditioning was not keeping it cooler than 25 degrees, so it was a bit hot for a good sleep. Check out went well and they called me a taxi and told the driver where I was going. The best part of my stay was the fast check in and check out with full attention to my travel plans.

Can't say I had a bad stay but also can't say it was a good stay in comparison with other HI Expresses in China. Room was fine although it was very dark. We were quite high up but there was still traffic noise although it didn't affect sleeping. Staff were nice enough and tried to be helpful although their English is limited (which was to be expected). Hey were good on getting us a taxi ob the last day and keeping us updated when it was delayed in traffic. Breakfast was ok but found this was more geared to chinese than other hotels in the group. Hotel is quite straight forward to find from transit system. Only stayed as we were cruising from the port but would recommend the Three Gorges Museum as really well laid out and interesting.

The room had a bad stench. We were a large group but only a few had only ONE problem and that was the smell in the rooms. The management changed the rooms promptly though and rest of the stay in a very rainy Chongqing was without event, Basic amenities were good and only the frustrating thing was that we couldn't use the pool despite it being on the 3rd floor.

I with my friends stayed at Holiday Inn Express Chongqing Jinxiucheng for 3 nights during Labor's Day vacation. The location of the property is around 15 minutes walk from Line 3 Jiazhou Road station, and around 5 minutes taxi ride for RMB10. The front desk staff was helpful and kind, and the free breakfast is available between 630-1030am with plenty of choice, including bread, fruits, Chinese porridge, steamed buns, salads, and some other hot dishes. Overall, the breakfast was decent, and fair to my expectation of Holiday Inn Express. One complaint was that the A/C system of the whole building. For the first two nights, the A/C didn't work properly in my room, and we had to wait for facility staff to fix the problem. Overall, this property was quite good with reasonable price. The location was a little far away from metro, but if decided to explore Chongqing by taxi, this hotel will be a good choice.

For less than £30 a night this hotel might be what you are looking for. Not the best location but still quite accessible from the north station and airport. The rooms are pretty standard Holiday Inn things. The cleaners need to be reminded that "do not disturb " does not mean hammer on the door. And the breakfast staff that threw away my breakfast whilst I visited the toilet, should not blame the customers. But it is still not a bad place for the price. Next door you will find lots of local food available 24/7 which is a bonus too.

Stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. Location is not too big an issue for me as I have friends who drove me around but it is slightly off the grid according to them. Hotel is getting a bit old and you can see the wear and tear starting to show. Room itself is clean and sleep quality is fine, the aircon is only working as fan and no cold air at the moment. Checked with front desk and basically they do not turn it on yet, had the same issues with other IHG group hotels in China, not sure if it is a government policy or IHG, but it is quite annoying especially during daytime as temperature is already getting a bit hot in Chongqing. Overall a decent hotel but nothing to write home about.

The hotel is surrounded by motorways and there is no double glazing in any of the rooms. The restaurant had a good mix of European and Chinese food for breakfast. The cleaners were excellent and the room was always well presented. Sadly the reception staff were not interested in helping anyone who had any issues.

I had a wonderful two-day vacation staying at Holiday Inn Express in Chongqing. The hotel is very clean and the room is spacious. The only thing that is inconvenient is getting a taxi from the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to other travelers.

I stayed in this hotel twice in the past month due its location being close to my office. The hotel is neat, slightly old and provides very basic breakfast. The coffee machine in the breakfast was not operating properly and there was no other possibility to have coffee in the morning. The windows in the room are very thin and there is noise even I have stayed in the higher floors. Shaving plug in the bathroom was out of order for both rooms I stayed, not fixed after I have mentioned that to the reception. Overall the bed is comfortable and the shower is powerful. This hotel is convenient and provides the basics a customer would like for a reasonable price.
