If you're looking for all the creature comforts then this isn't the hotel for you. The rooms are typically basic for Greece, but spotlessly clean. A decent size with balcony where you could see and hear the sea. Again, breakfast is very typical for a Greek hotel. Greek yoghurt and honey; boiled eggs; bread and jam and cheese and ham. Lovely coffee as well. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. They make you feel at home straight away.
A beautiful family run hotel with lovely staff, lovely views and a great pool and patio. The proximity to the beach could not be better. The island is breath-taking but you need a car to really visit all the sites. Overall I had a brilliant stay and couldn't believe the value for money.
Staff make the Lara hotel a pleasure to stay out, nothing is too much trouble, everyone is friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere from all.
The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable (with a small shower room, little TV, fridge and air conditioning). It's a short stroll to the beach, but is on a reasonably steep hill, so it might not be ideal for elderly people (especially in the heat). There is a pool and outside bar and seating area where it's easy to mingle and chat to fellow guests. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful, which made for a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
I can't understand where some of the bad reviews about the staff have come from. The owner and all of the staff were very welcoming and very friendly. The hotel is basic, but people should realise that by the price that they pay. However, basic does not mean poor - in fact it's excellent value for money. The room I had was a reasonable size and was cleaned every day except Sunday. Towels and linen are of good quality. Only downside is that the shower is very small, but it does work very well. Breakfast was good and we also attended the weekly BBQ, although it's not actually a BBQ but a buffet - the food was excellent all the same. Recommend the Taverna directly opposite the hotel. I would stay here again if visiting Lourdata.
What I liked about the hotel is that it was a small family run Greek hotel with charm and character.
