Canareef Resort Maldives

We had the most wonderful time at Canareef Resort Maldives! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed by the fantastic staff who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable. Our villa was beautiful – spacious, clean, and perfectly placed with a stunning view of the ocean. Waking up to the sound of the waves and that breathtaking scenery was pure paradise. The food was excellent with plenty of variety. Every meal offered something new and delicious, combining local Maldivian flavors with international favorites. We always looked forward to mealtimes! A special, heart-warm thank you to the wonderful staff shown in our photos – your smiles, warmth, and care made a lasting impression on us. You made us feel not just like guests, but like part of the Canareef family. This resort is a peaceful, welcoming oasis – and we already hope to return someday. Thank you again for a truly special experience!

We have just returned from our second visit to this lovely resort. Thank you, Admin, for allocating us the same Villa! Our first visit was in November 2024, and we enjoyed it so much that we had to come back. We were in a Sunset Villa, and the beach there was beautiful. We noticed some improvements. In the restaurant, the resort has worked to improve the food selection, and the salads are really, really good, as is the rest of the food. Our thanks to Nas, who once again looked after us at our table. A shout out to our house boy Ranaveer (Rana) who kept our Villa spotless and really looked after our needs! To all the hostesses in the Dhoni bar, a big thank you all, particularly Primilla and Dianne for your friendliness, we miss you already ❤️. To Admin, a big thank you for the special meal (we chose seafood) you arranged for us as returnees at the Meeraa Bar. It was superb!! A lovely highlight was watching the baby turtles being released at the Dhora beach bar! Unfortunately, we didn't get the Sunset fishing trip (inclement weather) or the Sunset Cocktail trip (low season?), maybe next time...? Mute point for me, I would love to see you add a small sailing dingy (ie a Laser), to your beach sports. Overall, coming back to Canareef was well worth the long trip, and we will be keeping an eye out for progress on the planned Water Villas!! Hope to return in the not to distant future.😍😍

This is one of the first reviews I’ve written, and I do so with great pleasure. Our stay at Canareef was outstanding. The food, the surroundings, and the staff were superb. The young man (Ranaveer) who cleaned our room was amazing. He was always there for us and did his work with great care. He was consistently very friendly and did everything he could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. We will definitely be coming back. In the photo, you can see his name tag, to once again emphasize that he deserves a great deal of respect

We had an amazing time at Canareef Resort. The staff was overall so helpful, caring and friendly. Special thanks to: Manjula, Leon, Than, Rahul, Kiran and Sai!!! The nature is beautiful, and there's a fantastic snorkeling spot at Bar-Cuda Beach. I would come back anytime!

Stunning beachfront cottages all inclusive which needed to be careful with the mini bar charges ! Isolated resort reached by a 20 minutes speed boat from the Gan island . Once we arrived in Male , we surprised to learnt we had to get a 2 hour flight to Gan.

This was our first time in the Maldives and it was our honeymoon and we can honestly say we are absolutely blown away how beautiful this place is. The food, staff and scenery are out of this world! By far the best place we’ve ever been too. If you’re looking for a Maldives holiday on a cheaper budget then this place is for you! Absolutely incredible from the moment we arrived to the day we left. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was our second visit to Canareef. Once again it lived ip to its expectations. Paradise ! The surroundings of natural beauty did not fail to impress. Loved the cocktail party this was a different experience from our previous visit , with good quality cocktails and a great way to meet other guests . Crab racing and excursions with Didi who is very helpful and attentive . We missed the hatching of Turtles but the friendly staff and visitors shared their videos of this wonderful experience . This is just one of the reasons we love Canareef. Staff go above and beyond making your experience there one you will treasure . Snorkeling is a must . Whether you’re a novice or an expert . There is something for everyone . The accommodation allows you to have privacy and comfort along with your own private access to the beach . Incredible ! There is seaweed ! This didn't affect s shallow swim . The beach bar area is completely unspoiled just the best place to go for a swim and snorkel . Buggies are just s great way to get around the island . Staff are friendly and helpful Loved the opportunity to cycle when feeling more energetic to explore . Food was good with varied options . Appreciated the opportunity to eat in the bars for something a little different ( club sandwich to a lobster ) at a reasonable charge We felt this was well worth it .

We had a wonderful time at the Canareef Resort. The service was wonderful and all the staff were friendly. The beach bar staff Manjula, Win and Snehith deserve an extra mention as they were made our time at the beach special. Also Leon in the restaurant was very friendly and very helpful. It made a change for all the Managers to be around the resort and always with a friendly word. We celebrated our Wedding anniversary and my 70th birthday at the resort and were made to feel very special The holiday was so good that we have already booked for next year. Sue and Terry Lockwood

We returned again to Canareef, this was our fifth trip, for our annual escape from life at home. A trip meant only for quiet reading and relaxation, swimming and watching the fish. A break from our busy lives with children and grand children work and the other responsibilities of everyday life. The resort has change since ownership changed hands a few years ago and a lot of it for the better. All of the accommodation units have now been renovated to the extent of a repaint and cleaning up and all of the excess vegetation has now been removed making the resort look more 'lived in' than it was originally and at last the Keema restaurant is being reopened expected in August but there is still a lot of work to do to complete this and the bar opposite with a feature swimming pool. A great part since the new owners have arrived is the acquiring of two 'Bobcat' machines, mini diggers, with which they do their best to keep the roads flatter but it is inevitable with the nature of sandy ground that when it rains and with the constant use of the Buggy's it is an ongoing task. 'Maybe those with a bit more than is necessary brace themselves after a rainy period' I say that tongue in cheek in this day and age but the rides can get a bit bouncy at times. The Beach which is bit of a misnomer really because there is beach all the way along the 'Sunset' side of the island has been transformed with sunbeds having taken away the wooden loungers so it is appearance is a bit more Majorca than Maldives which I think is a shame, but that's only my opinion, although I understand why I just preferred the original. Several little relaxing spots have been added on the various beaches and over the inland lakes which are nice a cosy, ideal for romantic reminiscing.. The changes are all for the better and do improve Canareef for the visitor and we can see clearly that it will become the favoured choice for the more discerning visitors. certainly not a place for the night clubbing fraternity. One cannot leave a review of this magnificent resort without reference to the staff. You will never meet more helpful, kind, considerate staff anywhere. from the room boys to the head chef and all in between. Front of house are so welcoming and when you leave are there to wave you off, did I see tear in some eyes as our boat pulls away? The service is exemplary throughout and although one would want to mention names that would not be fair on those who's names we do not ever get to know but who regardless take so much care of you. To all we must say a heartfelt thank you for making our stay so enjoyable and looking after us so well. The question is of course would we come back? Yes of course in a heart beat. We were going to have next year elsewhere to celebrate a significant event but as we left we knew we would be back next year. How can we be so sure, well we have already researched our air travel for the weeks we want to be there, its too early to make the booking with the airline but we are now waiting for our email from Canareef as we will book direct.

I had a life changing experience at Canareef Resort where I stayed for a week. The Villa, food, service and diving experience were superb, and my major take away is the Reiki healing I had with Vivek at the spa. I am forever grateful for this energy exchange we experienced and am planning to going back for a healing and learning retreat.
