HOTEL AREA WAS IN A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD, ROOMS WERE NOT VERY NICE AND, ONLY 2 HARD PILLOWS , NOT EXTRA BLANKETS OR BIG ENOUGH TOWELS AND LIMITED TV .

This was the dirtiest paid-for accommodation I have ever stayed in. The first room wreaked of a terrible old fish smell. Staff allowed us to move to another room (but didn’t offer to help or even give us a trolly) The second room was cleaner and smelled better but the conditions outside the room were deplorable. The so-called continental breakfast consisted of toast, (bread slices only), coffee juice, cereal and yogurt. Napkins were a box of cheap kleenex-type of tissues. The “dining” area was dusty and not in good repair. Clearly the owners don’t care. We were absolutely appalled. Never again at the Thriftlodge Wyndham in Moncton NB. Plus, it wasn’t cheap!!!

We booked this hotel on very short notice due to unforeseen changes in our vacation plans and there being no vacancy at the other hotels we looked into. The parking lot area had a lot of litter and felt very sketchy, so we had a bad impression from the outset. The carpet in the hallway leading to our room had a lot of stains. The first thing I noticed about our room was the hole in the wall beside the door where the doorknob had obviously gone through it at some point and hadn’t been repaired. The comforter on our bed had cigarette burns and my husband had to request new towels for the bathroom because our original ones had stains. I found a piece of broken glass in one of the dresser drawers. I couldn’t open one of the drawers because the knob was missing. The pool was in the basement, down the hall from our room and it smelled horrible, like a dirty fish tank. It was a really hot day and my daughter was looking forward to the pool, so she and her father went to check it out. The pool was full of debris, including fuzzy lint and feathers and didn’t smell any better up close. The only positive thing I can say is that the fridge and microwave were both clean and functional. It was an overall unpleasant and stressful stay. Thankfully, we only needed to stay there for on night.

Pool is not warm

The only thing this place has going for it was the price.....even then we wish we had gone for something different. The area had drug users all around it, openly using in public. The breakfast was toast and cereal. We had to take the lid off the toilet to manually flush. The pool was in a basement....the dust bunnies floating in the pool were unique. Our last night we were awakened by critters in the wall. If you're down on your luck, this is the place for you!

Arrived on Moncton early morning of August 13th and this was the only hotel available, our fault for not Booking earlier, but needed to rest after a long day of airplane travel. The room smelled of smoke, not cigarette, patched holes in the purple walls and bed looked as though the sheets had been slept in. Yard was disgustingly filthy, cigarette butts everywhere and food wrappers. Just plain disgusting. Why did we stay, ?? Needed a rest and my husband needed a place to plug in his cpap machine. Wyndham should be embarrassed about this hotel.

The place was awful. The pool area stunk so bad we had a hard time to breathe, and the pool looked gross and had hair floating in it so we didn’t even get in it. As soon as we walked up the stairs to our room, the first room we saw had swastikas stuck on the door. Yes, swastikas!!! And some type of red dots we weren’t sure were paint or blood. It was sketchy and gross. Our room was clean, but the comforters were stained and we didn’t want to sleep in the beds. The neighbourhood is sketchy and there were sketchy people around everywhere. The place was a run down dump. I had 3 teenage boys with me and they were actually scared to stay here. They said they wouldn’t sleep. So we got up around 10pm, packed our things and checked out. Now I’m out that money, but it wasn’t worth our safety or peace of mind. Definitely do not recommend.

The biggest issue was a dripping faucet (hot water! . Door to room would not shut very well...large gaps at bottom & side. It would NOT be good to stay there in wet or snowy conditions.
