Highfield Cottage

Excellent little cottage for visiting with a car or by train. Dog-friendly, warm, clean and comfortable with everything you need to cook too. Private off-road parking, lovely grounds and wheelchair accessible for day visiting.

A dishwasher?? 😁 We tend not to use a washer/dryer so that space would be the perfect spot!

My stay at Highfield Cottage was amazing. The owner lives next door and is there for you if you have any questions. The apartment itself is much bigger than I thought. You have a comfortable bedroom, a kitchen with everything you need, a bathroom and a big living room with a cozy fireplace. They provide wood for the fireplace, so you can enjoy your evenings in front of a warming fire. My dog was very welcome and there's even a "dog-proof" garden next to the cottage where your furry friend can enjoy the time. You reach Edinburgh old town by car after about 30-40 minutes. For me that wasn't too much time because I liked staying at a quiet, not crowded place more. There's a train station close to the cottage but I didn't look it up.

It's nothing about the cottage itself but about getting there. When you use Google maps it won't guide you to the right place and the direction given by booking is wrong as well. If you go to "Highfield House" (Google Maps) you'll get the right place. The cottage is behind the big building, just pass by.

The Cottage was very roomy and clean. Grounds were beautiful.

Communication with host was not timely while there.

dieses cottage war unser persönliches highlight. die bilder bringen es gar nicht zum ausdruck WIE SCHÖN ES IST! ein riesiger garten und ein sensationeller ausblick sind nur zwei weitere highlights. das bett war äußerst bequem. im gesamten war das haus sehr schön eingerichtet und super sauber. in weniger als 5 min ist man an einer bushaltestelle oder am bahnhof, um nach edinburgh zu gelangen. wir würden jeder zeit wieder kommen.

es gibt überhaupt nichts auszusetzen.

Everything! It was more than we expected! The owners have thought of everything. Warm, comfortable and spacious. Spectacular spot, lovely gardens also.
