"Exceptional Stay!"

This is the second time we've stay at The Lion and the 3rd time we've eaten here. I cannot recommend The Lion highly enough. We came down in December to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday with friends. From the moment you arrive at The Lion the welcome is so friendly and the team make you feel so welcome. The pub is so traditional, cosy and inviting with lots of nooks and areas to sit with a roaring open fire. The room we had was a Superior Double with bath & ensuite. Our room was gorgeous. So comfortable, clean and well appointed, lots of space and storage. The bed was really comfortable and the sweets on the table were a nice touch. It was definitely a luxury stay! We had booked a table for dinner which was delicious! One thing I will say are the portions are huge - super generous and beautifully presented. The love and care taken with the food really comes through. Local produce, wonderfully cooked, seasonal menu. The breakfast is also plentiful, fresh and delicious. A lovely touch for us was they team had put a bottle of fizz on ice for us on the table when we arrived for dinner which was so nice and very well received. The final thing to say and what ties the whole experience together and makes the The Lion such an amazing place are the staff. The are fun. engaging, welcoming and so attentive. Anyone looking for somewhere to stay when visiting Glastonbury or even looking for somewhere to eat and drink The Lion has it all. We now make this a must visit place every year and after this review I am just about to confirm next visit.
