The Fernside

We only stayed for a night as we were on a weekend getaway at Isle of Wight. I wish I had a few more days at IOW and The Fernside. Loved everybit of our stay. Amazing Welcome, cozy and homely rooms and environment. Stuart and Angela are wonderful hosts. Winston and the rescue pup from Romania I keep forgetting her name add to the charm! Would love to visit again and The Fernside would be my first choice of staying.

Quiet place to stay in Sandown Isle of Wight. Nice english breakfast.

My first stay at this hotel and can highly recommend it. Very close to Sandown station and within a few minutes walk of town centre shopping and (especially in Summer) the wonderful beaches. Within walking distance of bus stops for other Island facilities and within 3 mins walk of station with direct links to Hovercraft and Catamaran terminals to/from mainland.

A comfortable hotel, with a warm welcome. The chocolate Labrador also gives you a friendly welcome. Very good value for money.

Very comfortable. Near the beach and the town. Also close to some of the tourist attraction. Bottled water available everyday

Very pleasant owners , family room was good , clean , bed a little uncomfortable but adequate for 1 night , a little surprised that breakfast time was only a half hour window but as there is only 3 staff doing all the jobs , this was understandable , decor is a little dated but this will be updated in time , would recommend it and stay there again

Hotel was only a 10 minute walk from the beach. The level of service was exceptional!! Staff couldn’t do enough. Sand down is a lovely coastal location which I will definitely visit again.
