"Extremely convenient if you are attending anything at Stirling University."

8.0

Breakfast was excellent. The location was ideal as we were attending an event at The McRoberts Art Centre. We had an early dinner before the show and it was tasty and very reasonably priced.

The bed was too small and no air conditioning. We were on the ground floor and didn't feel comfortable opening the window.

"Very comfortable and enjoyable stay."

10.0

The location was lovely, with super walks round the university campus. Breakfast were very good and evening meals, too. The room was comfortable and clean. All staff were friendly and helpful. This was an excellent base for touring in the area. I would be happy to stay here again, but would request a room at the end where the lift is. There was no problem finding a parking space.

It was a shame that the lift was located at one end of the building, not the end I was staying in. Luckily, a courteous member of staff carried my case up to the first floor for me. I would have struggled to take it downstairs when I was leaving, but a kind teenage rugby player offered assistance.

"Adequate"

5.0

The breakfast and the quietness the location the views and of course the staff

No food service on that evening although a booking was accepted a few days prior , having driven 460 miles to get there that day that was disappointing to say the least the receptionist first informed us of the problem at check in but did not offer to arrange an alternative ( I guess management had not given her authority to do so ) fortunately another guest was able to recommend a local pub which we were able to make a last minute online booking so after going to our respective rooms we drove there and after 15 mins your receptionist phoned to offer transport to where ever we required sadly a little too late ! I felt that after such a long drive this service should have been offered t check in . I have over the years stayed with you on numerous occasions when you were the Stirling management and had wonderful experiences with you . On the plus side when next in in the area I would happily stay with you as this was just a one off

"A disappointing stay at the the Stirling Court"

5.0

The location is great for anyone visiting the University or Wallace Monument. My room was tranquil and I had a friendly and helpful experience with staff. As an Alumni I chose to stay at Stirling Court on my way South as I had never taken the opportunity on any of my previous trips back to the area and as it opened while I was studying there I thought it was time for me to correct that.

The hotel is indeed a 3 start hotel, my room was very dated and I suspect all/the majority will also be dated. The room was slightly shabby however a larger issue is it was not air conditioned and it was a hot day; the windows do open at the top via a tilt mechanism to give you 4-5 cms gap however being near a large body of water there were some extraordinarily big mosquitoes immediately outside. The bigger disappointment was that one of the lamps was not working, was fixed when I went to reception, and the phone was also broken meaning I had to go down to reception to report the broken lamp. The largest issue was that the Bathroom has black mold on both the bath and the sink, really not acceptable and an easy fix. The cleaning staff simply need to use something like Cilit Bang Black mold remover, a squirt once a week or a wipe with some bleach would keep the mold away and not risk the customer's health. It feels like the hotel is taking advantage of a captive customer base of university visitors and conference attendees and this has led to a lack of attention to the details that matter, like cleanliness. I contrast this with the state of the toilets in the Cottrell building which I used and which were spotless. As an alumni it gives me no pleasure at all to have to write a poor review for the Hotel and recognising that refreshing the dated feel and shabbiness of the bedrooms would be a significant investment my expectations were not high however making sure the basics are covered is an easy fix.

"Staff friendly, breakfast buffet was good."

It was close to Wallace Monument and I could see it from my window. Easy to get to.

The bathroom floor was uneven; soft in a couple places. No fan in room to cool it down.
