The Rockford Inn

We booked a lovely looking room in a quiet location for a restful weekend away. Not the room pictured on Expedia, or booked. After getting held up in traffic for 3hrs on the M5, we finally arrived at 2030 on Friday evening, pleasantly greeted but told food finished serving for the evening. However the pizza oven was still hot so could do a fresh pizza, which was very nice. Breakfast was between 0800 & 0900, not much chance of a lie-in, so we opted to skip breakfast. Having been disturbed by the cleaning staff trying to come in, we finally got up and went out for a lovely relaxing day out. Sunday morning we got to the dining room around 0845, nice enough breakfast, then went back up to pack. At 1015am, there's an urgent knock at our door, when we opened it we were confronted with " Come on guys, check out is 1000, and I've got things to do so can you hurry up" in a very rude and abrupt tone. Totally taken aback, we were packed and ready to leave anyway, so went to settle our bill. When we were in the car park, we noticed the owners 'things to do', walk the dog!! I have to say we have stayed in many places over the years, but have never been spoken to or treated like that ever before, it was down right rude. It appears that the majority of guests who stay there are walkers, up early, out all day and retire to bed early. Well we went to stay there to chill out, so sorry we didn't fit the general clientele. Check out time stated on Expedia is 1030am

Really good place to stay - good for walks and food. Dog friendly which is lovely. Rooms are comfortable and lovely to stay in and Catherine and Sarah could not be more helpful. The breakfasts are excellent and it is worth booking dinner - food is extremely good. I have stayed here many times.

This hotel is in a quiet location on the edge of Exmore. It is located close to all attractions in the area providing excellent and friendly service

very enjoyable stay - very good accommodation, food excellent, I personally found beers very good - service friendly and welcoming - would love to stay again
