Cathedral Gate

L'emplacement est parfait , en plein centre de Canterbury au pied de la cathédrale . La chambre que nous avions était très jolie , sous les toits avec des vielles poutres et donnant sur cour donc très calme . Le petit déjeuner est délicieux , je vous recommande cet hôtel.

As a peripatetic barrister and part time Judge, I have stayed in numerous hotels all over England for the last 45 years, and I never tire of a rerun visit to this lovely hotel, where the very helpfuland kind owners and staff have become personal friends. My visits to the CGH started in the early 1960's when my mother brought my brother and me to stay in the hotel during a visit to Westgate on Sea. This visit was to say farewell to the staff at the local Crown Court at the time of my retirement, and as ever I was greeted by the staff like a long lost friend! The rooms are charming, most of the views from the bedrooms are scenic and quirky (try the view from the room known as Joy - the cathedral fills the entire window!), the housekeeper makes up the smartest beds in Britain, and the view over the Buttermarket from the ancient breakfast room is delightful. While work will not take me to Canterbury again, I will certainly return to the hotel to enjoy the city, the hotel, the staff and the nearby coast and attractions including the amazing Turner Gallery in Margate.

Perfect location for viewing the sights of Canterbury. The property itself is quirky but charming, the room comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and informative.

Lovely Hotel in an ancient building right in the heart of the City. Lovely staff, good facilities, quite a lot of steps and stairs to reach rooms but we felt very happy with everything. Breakfast excellent & fresh brewed coffee. Next door to a good fish & chips cafe.

Not the hotel's fault but the stairs may be tricky for some - octogenarians take care.

Looking for a short stay in pleasant location. Couldn't ask for more.

Besonders freundliches Personal, fantastische Lage, direkt neben der Kathedrale. Das Haus ist alt und die Zimmer nicht groß, aber alles sehr atmosphärisch. Wirklich gutes kontinentales Frühstück.

Bed was uncomfortable and quite small... just our preference however
