"Comfortable, relaxing raid in the Medina"

10.0

While not the easiest to find (the map on their website could be better and they need a proper sign on the door), this was a cool, calm and comfortable riad in the medina, located close to the Djemaa El Fna. Our room was spotless, and service was very good. The price we paid offered good value relative to other riads. I would definitely recommend it to other travellers.

"Book it Now"

8.0

Sammie, Moustaffa and the entire staff are a sheer delight. They are committed to an incredibly pleasant and stress free stay. We were lost several times in the huge and crazy medina and called Moustaffa for help. He literally sprinted to our rescue in the spice market and calmed a situation that was unnecessarily brewing with a local bad guy. The villa staff are attentive, thoughtful, and provide great guidance on how to spend the day. They even offered local healing treatments when I suffered from cold/flu symptoms, prepared us for taxis, guides, etc. They were exceptionally accomodating when there was a conflict with our original booking. Simply put, we did not want to leave because we had such a feeling of peace and trust with Riad Villa Wenge. I highly recommend this Riad when in Marrakesh! Book it now.

"A delight in every way"

10.0

Keep in mind that one should never attempt to find any riad inside the old city walls without careful arrangement with the hotel who will send a porter to meet your taxi or bus. We thoroughly enjoyed the warm hospitality and professionalism of the Manager and staff. We had a lovely dinner as well that was delicious. If you are a late sleeper you may be a tad bothered by other guests enjoying their breakfast as they will be heard given that all rooms open onto the garden dining area. You would enjoy being here I am sure.

"Quiet and relaxing riad"

10.0

The riad was generally great and the staff were more than helpful. The riad is located in a quiet side street a few minutes walk from the main square and is a perfect location. Breakfast was different every day and very pleasing although the coffee could have been hotter! We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Hot tub on the roof terrace was great. It was helpful that the riad staff let us use the facilities until late afternoon on the day that we left and to leave our baggages there during the day. all in all a very pleasant stay in a lovely riad.

"Pretty Riad Villa Wenge - perfect location!"

8.0

Me and my sister went to Riad Villa Wenge last week (15-21Sept 2012)... We had an amazing time, located in the Medina close to the square. Location location location is all I say when it comes to it, perfect location close to all Marrakach tourist attractions. The Villais very pretty, clean, quite and very therapeutic in the otherwise busy and noisy Medina. Breakfast is very simple, more options would be ideal... Fruits, cereal and eggs! The place is maintained really well. Bedrooms were very comfy and beautiful as we moved between the sweet suit, the white room and the green room. The staffs are very polite and nice. However there is a language barrier except for Adil who speaks good English. We had one issue while staying at the Villa: one day me and the sis decided to go Esauiera for a day which we made the staff aware, however when we got back from our trip we were told that they moved our things to a different room without our permission. That was very upsetting and was very disgusted. We spoke with the manager who sincerely apologise for what happened. We also had the pleasure to meet the owner and who was very helpful in a sticky situation with our transfer to the airport who offered us for her husband to drive us to the airport. Very kind of her. Overall, We had a wonderful tin in Marrakech and also at the villa. Would recommended to everyone except when you go to the villa ask for any changes that might happen while you are staying with them.

"nice hotel but unfortunate incident"

8.0

nice hotel. very comfortable. authentic. wonderful terrace where you can sit or lie down to count the stars. two issues: 1. hotel located in a quiet place - if want to stay out late after 11:00pm, may present an uncomfortable 3 minute walk back to hotel because all the streets are deserted and dimly lit. 2. taxi ride to hotel 70 dirham for large taxi and 30 dirham for small taxi. had hired porter arranged by hotel waiting for us at drop off just in front of market square when we arrived at approx 9 pm. thought porter was part of hotel and tipped porter 15 dirham. unfortunately, did not realize porter was a hired hand, and he wanted 50 dirham for his portering of our luggage from the square to the hotel (10 minute walk). somewhat embarrassing and confusing moment when the porter stood there impatiently waiting for more money. I suggest the hotel include the fees upfront, or inform the guests that there is a 50 dirham charge, to avoid the confusion. I am told the charges may be more if we arrived later - again, they were unable to say how much more. when we left, we took our own baggages out to the square and flagged a taxi without troubling our porter. (incidentally, we saw a similar porter advertising his services with a similar cart for 38 dirhams).

"Good start, bad end!"

2.0

This Riad is in the heart of Medina near the famous square. It is very chaotic with many motor bikes and cyclists speeding down small lanes and alleyways on your journey to this Riad so you have to walk to the side for safety to ensure that you don't get knocked down! You will also get hassled by many of the stall holders insisting that you should buy from them. The very unhelpful taxi driver who tried to overcharge us just dropped us off near the square and we had to find the Riad with an aid of a stranger. Without that person, we would still be looking for the place! I would recommend using the number 19 bus which you can locate outside the airport which drops you off at the same place as the taxis and is also a cheaper option. Like most reviewers, this Riad is in a relatively good condition but lacks the quality to give the 4 star credential to which it boasts. Also, as previously mentioned, there are no doors to the shower or toilet so it may not be ideal if you are travelling with a friend (due to a lack of privacy#. There is no mini bar or fridge in the rooms, no table #for the use of a laptop# and I could only find 2 power points which were behind the headboard of the 2 single beds #not easy accessible). We stayed 3 nights; 2 of which were enjoyable until they asked us to change to an inferior room to accommodate 2 other guests and in the end, we demanded a move to a new Riad/Hotel. Hardly a great way to treat your paying guests is it?

"A little bit of luxury"

10.0

The only thing that was a little difficult was finding the place. Once we arrived in was very beautiful, slightly Japanese style. We were welcomed to our room and offered cold beer, water or tea - we opted for beer as it was the first beer we had all week. We also had dinner at the restaurant in the Riad which was really delicious and lots of food, it was a little more expensive than we were used to but it was higher quality. However one thing that was not good was the wine, we were offered it with dinner and it was not drinkable - not really sure what we were expecting, but I would definitely stick to cold beer.
