"Nice Oasis in a Sea of Chaos."

8.0

I liked my room and the Raid was quiet, nicely decorated and the staff, especially Adil, were excellent. The location was good if you want to be in the old city. I felt the breakfast could be a little more varied. It was crepes everyday, white bread and a white bread bun so a lot of white flour and little else except orange juice and coffee. Eggs or cheese and especially fruit would be better. Riad Wenge was great but I would warn travellers about Marrakech. The shop keepers are a constant nuisance including the ones around the Riad. Everytime you walk by the store they ask you why you have not bought something. Then they tell you it is a poor country and you should help them by buying something. Fake guides are every where and you are pestered frequently for money. Taxi drivers are variable and the main square is full of hawkers and the acts are tired and the treatment of monkeys and donkeys etc depressing. People that tourists meet are only interested in money and the city has lost much of the charm it apparently held from the late 19th century to the 1970s. Hard to imagine Mick Jagger or others discovering themselves in this city. Fez is a much better option.

"Great hideout in the middle of Medina"

10.0

The Riad is located just of the main square which proved to be ideal, close enough to the action and quietly hidden away to enjoy a peaceful rest. The hotel appears as depicted in the pictures with the air condition unit keeping you cool. Although the staff speak little english, they are very friendly and very helpful.

"Riad Recommended"

10.0

Our flight was delayed getting us in to Marrakesh after midnight but this was no problem for pick up. The Riad staff adjusted their schedules accordingly. The staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help and any emails sent in advance were responded to very efficiently and punctually. We had originally planned on staying two nights but turned this in to five as the Riad was a superb quiet haven from all the hustle bustle only a few minutes away and a great place to return to after the many one day trips that are available out of Marrakesh. The Riad is very clean and organized and the rooms have a modern contemporary look while still in the Riad style. While imposing at first to find the location through the narrow lanes, once it has been done (while remembering certain landmarks), it becomes second nature and is quite straight forward to get away and back again. French is the main language spoken but 'anglophones only' do not need to be concerned as the broken english is easily understood and they understood everything we were asking. This was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Riad experience just a stones throw from the square.

"Very hard place to find but nice once you find it"

6.0

This Riad is really hard to find. Taxi's can't take you all the way there becuase it is right in the market. You can get people to cart your bags and things there if you are able to find one. People will try to help but as this is Marrakech they will want you to give them money for helping you. When we got there the man I guess is the manager was helpful showing us around and bringing us some mint tea. This was great after all the time it took us to find the place. There did seem to be renovations or improvements going on at the time that we were there so some things did not feel finished and the drill on the stairs was a bit worrying. But it should be fantastic once it's all done. The breakfast was lovelly and is served in the courtyard on the ground floor. There is an amazing roof top terrace which would be a great spot to longe around during the day once the markets gets too much.
