The Decker House Bed & Breakfast

Great location, very comfortable amenities with a friendly innkeeper, Sally. She makes great food and has lots of knowledge about the local area and events.

Everything about this place is a plus. Comfortable room and wonderful breakfasts.

I was so glad this charming Bed and Breakfast showed up in my hotel search in Mason City, IA. I had just seen a write up for it in a local travel guide and decided to check out of another iconic hotel in town and check in this one. It was so fun to stay in the large and lavish "Rose Room" where Bill and Hillary once stayed. My daughter and I loved the never ending cookie jar, the private roof balcony with ta great view, table and chairs, and the huge king sized bed. Check in was great. The staff was super friendly and pointed me in the direction of good local sight seeing. Breakfast was wonderful and the other guests at the hotel were all so nice too, so eating in the dining room with strangers turned out to be quite lovely. I had to leave and check out at 4am so the staff was so kind they set the automatic coffee maker to brew for me at 4am! How considerate and awesome! If I ever travel to Mason City again, I will be returning to the Decker House!

Both ‘b’s in bed & breakfast are front and center - comfortable & restful bed; dynamite breakfast! Other guests were good company & conversations were easy to partake in The food was amazing: tasty,done from scratch, well-presented. A delight! we look forward to a second visit. I will be happy to recommend our stay to others. Next year when we return, we will take time to explore the prairie architecture, along with that of Frank Lloyd Wright. If you like “Music Man”, you’ll enjoy Mason City.

Sally was very easy and accommodating. Decker House has a rich history in Mason City. Close to mall and downtown... walking. also can walk to and see Frank Lloyd Wright Hotel and Stockman House... great architecture by FLW and influenced by FLW. A great place to stay.

The house is beautiful, as was our room. Sally was very accommodating of our check-in and early check-out schedule, and special dietary requests. Breakfast was great. Just wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the house and Mason City.
