Mantaray Island Resort

Beautiful beach, lovely staff, fantastic snorkeling. Good food, coffee. Quiet at night.

The restaurant was up a long series of stone steps. Steep and uneven. Hard for older people to manage.

Beautiful island, the staff were amazing, super helpful at all times. Accommodation was clean and tidy there was plenty of free and paid activities to full in the days, the food was beautiful and fresh with plenty of variety well worth the money.

We stayed in the reef bure which was a very cool experience to have the outdoor bathroom! We loved the room and also that it was a bit further from the beach bar which meant it was more private and quiet. The staff at this resort are so lovely!! Everyone we interacted with was amazing but special shoutout to the restaurant staff who always made us smile. There are both free and paid activities which we took part in. The manta snorkle is a paid activity but it was a very cool experience. Although, on our last day the mantas had come to swim just off the house reef which was amazing (and free) to see. Otherwise, there is free snorkelling around the house reef, kayaking and paddle boarding. The food was very yummy as well! We would absolutely come back here!!

Not necessarily a bad thing (we actually liked this), but reception isn't great on the island. The internet is good in the common area, but not so much in the reef bure. We liked this because we could just 'unplug' and enjoy the island but if you are someone that likes to be connected then keep that in mind.

Delicious dinner and staff were exceptionally nice. Felt much more at home than at other resorts in the islands and everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. Shoutout to Petra for the amazing mantaray snorkel experience!

The snorkelling off the beach was brilliant

The communal showers and toilets were awful! Didn’t have any toilet roll in them half the time and they were filthy dirty all the time, they were never checked! Showers were also dirty all the time! The food was not upto a good standard for the price of the meal plan! And the staff seemed to be enjoying the resort and the facilities more than the guests! Extremely loud late at night from the staff shouting and yelling! Very expensive for a poor resort and the worst we stayed at!

We had a two-night, two-room booking and never even made it to the resort. We arrived at the port to be told just 45 minutes before departure that boats were cancelled due to bad weather. No prior notice from the resort at all. Conditions remained unsafe for two days, so we couldn’t travel. When we contacted the resort, we were told that because the resort was “open,” we had no recourse. Completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, guests already on the island couldn’t leave, meaning rooms were effectively double-booked and paid for twice. This feels opportunistic and unfair. Terrible communication, zero accountability, and very poor customer service. I would strongly recommend that no one stay here.

Activities and good dinner available. Dorm rooms were quiet despite the big rooms. Staff were friendly and got involved with everyone staying there
