Mahalaya Residency

We had prepaid booking for 1 night. However, when we arrived they told us they didn't get our reservation. They arranged for us stay in a different hotel. However, this hotel was of lower category, not very clean and not well equipped, approximately two times cheaper. We were not given any refund for staying in this cheaper hotel.

We didn't stay at Mahalaya Residency in spite of reservation completed successfully on 12/24/2015. When we reached hotel to check-in we were notified that they don't have the confirmation. We were notified that hotel don't have reserved room for us and asked to apply for refund. After lot of efforts and coordination we ended up staying in different hotel few miles away. Over all experience is not good (hotel management has to be improvised).

Travellers arriving at or leaving from Chennai Airport late at night or early in the morning could not do better than to use this hotel , which includes airport transfers in the price of a room . I have used the hotel for years , and am impressed by the efficiency of their service , all for relatively few Rupees .

The hotel staff is friendly but the hotel room comfort is poor.

Staffs are very nice, with free Wi-Fi and free Hotel Airport transport.

I had e a terrible time at the hotel since most of the facilities promised were not working properly and toilet didn't had toilet paper.

Had a very comfortable stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located very close to the airport. Rooms are neat and clean.

Very bad choice

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Waste of Money and Time..

We stayed here for a few hours before catching our late night international flight from MAA. I called the hotel the previous night to check if they can provide pickup from the airport. They asked to call after we landed there and had picked up baggage. I did that, and the pickup van was at the terminal in about 10 minutes. The room is basic, but comfortable. It has decent beds, AC, TV and other furniture. The bathrooms have hot(warm) and cold water. It was clean enough. Our room opened to a private balcony shaded by greenery. It would have been nice, except that the AC exhaust was fitted in the same space (ha) and it was really hot. There is a restaurant downstairs - it has seating for maybe 30 people. They said the breakfast is complimentary. The lunch buffet was ~300rs per person. The food was great and the service was better. Highly recommended. Checking out was very easy too. The bellboy was up in 2 minutes after I called the reception asking to check out. The checkout process itself was another 2 minutes. In another 5 minutes they had loaded up all our luggage into the van to go to the airport. Fantastic. There are better hotels at a higher price point, but if all you are doing is transit - this works well.
